    question about Survival Lasers

No way I mean really no way! I've been off this thread for awhile. Garoq sorry the FDA is giving you so much crap in the way of legal fees, thank you for taking a stand though. I was lucky to get one of your amazing 1.5watt SS2 laser host assemblies before this all went down. Now I'm really...

1 watt 365nm UV Flashlight Safe To Use Without Goggles?

Wow really I missed the spectrograph completely, I will have to go back and look. All I know is that I needed 365 and would not be able to insta charge the flourescants I have without 365. I read the horror stories about people buying falsly listed as black light 395nm and it took them forever...

1 watt 365nm UV Flashlight Safe To Use Without Goggles?

I bought it from a company called Tactical Gear, it appears that it is 365nm as it instantly charges the glow stones I have in less than 1 second. I just had to have it once I saw the ltrafire host  Below is the link and a description. Amazon.com: 1-Watt 365nm Ultra Violet UV LED...

1 watt 365nm UV Flashlight Safe To Use Without Goggles?

Ok Guys I bought myself the 1 watt 365nm LED flashlight from Amazon (The one that is in the ultrafire host ) to quick charge the glow stones I made. I cannot get any product details on safety. Since it is not a laser and does not have a colminated beam I would assume it would be safe as long as...

    High Powered Amazon Laser 532nm

Looks like a nice laser at a very good price. The only thing I don't like about lasers like this one is the advertised 5mW of power. If a non LPF member were to buy it believing it was a 5mW eye safe greenie they are bound to get hurt. Jamaall quote _"On Amazon, it says that it is 5mW, and the...

Brother Looking For "Laser pointer" Any Advice?

Let me know if any of you have recomendations on the type of laser pointer most appropriate. My brother is in construction and needs a 532 green for pointing out work defects etc. Obviously the power would have to be at 5mw or less since it will be used as a pointer. He also said he needs one...

Learn From Mistakes That Can Happen To Anybody...

Always wear your safety glasses while inside, if I did not have them on when lighting a candle I would be blind as the wax reflected the 1498mw 445 beam after it meled into a drop. It hit my goggles no perma eye damage yay for me

    Great Laser Pointer Case!

What I want to know is where some LPF members have been going to get those very nice silver cases that hold multiple lasers. I have got to get my hands on one of those.

Is it legal to point a 150mw green laser in the sky? In the US?

I'm paranoid about this one, even though we have good neighbors I never allow any beam to cross my own property line. I use my shed or the tree as a beam stop.

Even plane retards in my country

Wait, if and when that dreadful day comes we'll create a National Laser Association to protect our right to bear lasers. Most of us 99+% are not like the idiot referenced in the OP. The NRA does a great job on protecting gun rights all we need is the laser equivelent.:D

    Scared of my brother's laser..reasonable?

As other members have said we don't know what power output this laser has. Most of the laser pointers if you could safely call them that sold on line tend to be well over 5mW. If he got this for only 20 Euros I'd be very worried about IR leakage. I doubt it has a proper filter. Get this thing...

    Lasever 80mW+ 473nm Handheld

+1 On your review, this is truly a great laser and my current favorite so far. Thanks for posting the components picture, I always wanted to know what it looked like on the inside. :thanks:

Exactly, badger is right on, no 5mW laser is going to have a beam this visible. My 100mW 473 is not even this visible in the amount of light shown.

Freeze the images at 121, 129, and 130 look at the laser host. Since 473 is DPSS I don't recognize any 473 in that style of host. Anyone recognize the host?

Not sure the owner even knows what he's got since many lasers sold over the internet are either way over the indicated power rating or way under. Even if its 473nm, no way its only 1mW. I have have a >80 473 and you can't see the beam that clearly when sun is shining inside.

No way that is 1mW The beam is highly visible and its dot is quite bright. I don't see any smoke or fog in the room. This looks like a class 4 445 to me.

    Post Your Close Calls

I burned some popcorn earlier today so to get the smell out of the house I decided to light some candles. Using a lighter is just not as much fun as a 1.5 watt 445. :eg: So I begin setting a candle on fire and some of the wax pools on the bottom. I then learn that liquid candle wax can be...

Here are a few storm pics for you guys to enjoy. Next to lasers for me its all about storm chasing. Side view of the massive 5/29/2004 HP beast supercell in central OK 5" hail from this storm Rotating wall cloud and soon to be tornado. Sadly a grain silo was destroyed along with other...
