Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

New update :-) I tried AMC7135-1400mA driver (sells on e-bay AMC7135 1400mA Regulated Led Driver | eBay $6 for 1)or DX (AMC7135 1400mA Regulated Circuit Board for DIY Flashlights 15-Pack - Free Shipping - DealExtreme $18 for 15) and it works... on fully recharged battery, it outs about 1.3A. I...

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

The minimal VCC of STC1 is 4.5V, according to the datasheet..

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

I tried the DX driver with dummy load with voltage drop about 2.4 V and with one lion battery at 4.2V and it gives max about 800mA :-(. So this is not an option, obviously.

How to make a selectable Dummy Load - VERY in depth

I wonder why there is the resistor in the dummy load at all. A protection? A position to measure voltage? If we care just about voltage drop, the resistor is redundant indeed, hm?

diode - case positive, driver - case negative

Never heard of such an option :-) I will use WF-501B (link), how can I determine if it is anodized?

diode - case positive, driver - case negative

To further illustrate the issue I made a diagram :-) It is clear that as it is, the diode + would be connected to battery -, which is bad. To insulate the diode, the whole heatsink has to be insulated. The driver is sitting inside and have to be insulated from it as well :-/ I noticed a...

diode - case positive, driver - case negative

I have an IR diode which is case positive and this driver and its outer ring is case negative. I am making a portable with direct-press heatsink. Hmm.. now I'm not sure how to put it together... Should I isolate the driver's outer ring with some glue/epoxy/silicone? Anyone had this problem...

Super Low voltage drop Linear Reg

What I use is this https://www.dealextreme.com/p/mechanics-soldering-paste-50g-7952 and regular iron on which a I lay the pcb with components and leave it there for a while :-)

Super Low voltage drop Linear Reg

I noticed that too but was not that confident to say it's wrong :-) I didn't find the info in datasheet.. They have it at mouser.com with shipping to my area for 5$ so I might give it a try :-)

Super Low voltage drop Linear Reg

That's awesome, probably exactly what I was looking for :-) However I will have a hard time to find it around here.. :-/

    Voltage regulation

Hi, i've been thinking since I ever saw that LM317 based driver about why it is just not used as voltage regulator. It is used as current regulator and so are all I've ever seen. My question is why are there not any voltage regulators? Are there any drawbacks? I can think of resistivity of LD...

looking to have a heatsink made

I have a nice, quick, custom made heatsink from Eudaimonium. Try PM him.

    Any info about this diode?

Hmm, not sure what't going on, it's maybe damaged... I measured it with my diy setup :-) and here's what I got: (down mA, left output light power [no units]) however the diode is incredibly dim and produces only two distinct dots as seen on the picture (before you say anything, the camera...

    Any info about this diode?

Thanks, that is what I was looking for.

    Any info about this diode?

Hi, this is the diode from my old cd-rw burner. Does anyone know something about it? Where are the positive and negative pin? I'd guess the positive is the pin connected to the casing, but I'm not sure.

How I measured my laser diode with Arduino

I finally managed to destroy the diode.. Due to excessive mechanical stress, the negative pin started spinning and tore one of the tiny wires by the chip. So it shines :can:, but don't lases now :undecided:. I'll try to repair it, but don't give it too much hope :-)

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

I found several buck regulators which could be used by Linear Technologies (Linear Technology - Parametric Search for Buck-Boost LED Drivers) or Texas Instruments (found on mouser.com), however I cant find them anywhere near and don't want to pay outrageous postage. In near shop I found NCP3065...

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

As I said, it is 808nm 1W diode running at ~1.2A, ~2.2V. Something like this looks very promissing: http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/switching-driver-445nm-diodes-53468.html However LTC3454 has absolute maximum current 1.25 which is too low and I have hard time finding it around here. That...

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

Thanks for the reply. Okay, so how do you guys power your lasers? As an example - take WF501b host: UltraFire WF501B CREE Q2 180-Lumen White LED Flashlight with Strap (2*16340/1*18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme The ideal would be to put two 18650 (~2Ah) in, it's not possible however. Two...

Are there some schematics for driver at 3.7V?

I am not sure what are you refering to, that diagram is pretty clear to me. However, I am not that dedicated, really, but it would be nice and useful. I just wanted to know if there is any proven solution so I wouldn't reinvent a wheel. Is there anything fundamental wrong in the diagram posted...
