DTR's Laser Shop - Laser Diodes & More

Does your 445 1 watt blue diode have a case pin as long as the + and -? I have ordered a diode before, and the + and - were about twice as long as the case pin.

how do i use laser diode bare chips?

well... looks like that's not gonna happen

how do i use laser diode bare chips?

I was looking to build an array of infa red diodes, and came across this: Laser Light Solutions Releases Turn-Key, 5-watt Blue Laser Diode System it seems like magically amazing power for a small price, but it says its only bare chips. Does this make it far more difficult or impossible for a...

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

How do I decan it, and is it common for diodes to burn up like this? Do I need more heatsinking?

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

I could burn holes in plastic, cut tape, light matches instantly, make almost anything smoke, and an unbareable sting on your hand if it was held still. Now it cant burn at all.

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

I tried using the qtip and it had no effect at all. I also noticed that it lookslike there is a tiny white smudge on or in the window of the diode. Does this mean I need a new diode or can I decan it like laseerer said. Also, what would cause this in the first place? It was in a heatsink and I...

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

The diode is inan aixiz lens module, and picture 2 looks just like it does with no lens but with the diode stiill in the aixiz module . I dont have a real camera othet than my phone, so i cant get a good picture ofthe diode, but i cantt see any evedence that the lens melted onto the diode. I may...

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

It used to look just like that. Unfocused it looks about the same as in the first picture, with random blotches of light rather than lines

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

this is the driver: Amazon.com: 1W 445nm blue laser diode driver / 405nm laser driver: Everything Else And i used 3 AAA batteries to power the driver

Not sure why dot looks dimmer and different

I finished a 1watt 445 laser, and it worked fine all day, but then the dot was about half the brightness, no longer burns, and the unfocused dot looks ramdom, like a reflection off water rather than the ordered lines I saw before. Also, a dim ring appeared around the dot. After replacing the...

    1000$ for 500 mw green?

I contacted several suppliers of cni for this laser at 500 mw: http://www.cnilaser.com/PDF/PGL-H-532.pdf and got prices around 1000$, which is WAY above what I will pay for a laser. I was expecting closer to 1$ per mw and maybe even less given that I was ordering right from the supplier. I think...

broken 445 nm 1 watt diode, still usable

hmm, I bought mine for 55$. If you can get them for just 40 than maybe It would make more sense to buy a new one and hold on to this one for later. Could you give me a link to where i can buy one for 40$?

broken 445 nm 1 watt diode, still usable

well I already turned a flashlight into a custom host, I made a heatsink, somthing to hold the driver, and a custom battery pack to fit the extra parts. Id rather just buy another 445 diode rather than change the design

broken 445 nm 1 watt diode, still usable

And connect it to the case? I dont want to do that because the driver I have has a + and - for the diode

broken 445 nm 1 watt diode, still usable

@Benm @RENOxDECEPTION Yes, I dont know what im doing, this is my very first laser. Also, I understand that i am not at all in the position to ask for money before letting you test it yourself, so please dont be afraid to buy it. Edit: about pics... I dont have a very good camera at all...

broken 445 nm 1 watt diode, still usable

the negative pin on my diode broke off (my fault). I was unable to solder it back, and i did not want to just solder the case to it and just let the case be negative because I intended to use this driver: 1W 445nm blue laser diode driver / 405nm laser driver | eBay I know that most of you build...
