I hope you realize how old this thread is... Also incase you didnt read my other posts i was asking about glasses too.. I already purchased a 50mw, a 100mw (both green/532nm) and a pair of 532nm and IR filtering protective glasses.. totalling about $75

I wasn't actually expecting it to be 50mw, but for the price it's really good quality. In the reviews some people's tested to be around 20-35mw and others were around 40-60mw so figured it'd be worth it either way.

Yes, and I don't have either of those problems =/ Mine has a slight amount of splash around it on startup, but it quickly clears up. Mine was able to fit 1 AA, though. That's odd...

I was going to get a 200mw 808nm laser, but after a few members here informed me of the kind of danger an IR laser is I decided to go with less powerful green lasers.

So I just got done purchasing a 50mw green laser, a 100mw green laser, and a good pair of glasses. Now, the hard part. Waiting 7-14 days.... I don't think I can wait =P

Okay, i understand that it is dangerous. What do i need to get with it to operate it safely? I've already purchased a 50mw green laser, for something with a visible beam. I wasn't aware it was that dangerous to use an IR in public, so thats why i got the green

You obviously have a hard time reading, and for that I'm sorry. You were right on one part, and one part only. I did say I wanted a laser with burning capabilities. I also CLEARLY said it wasn't going to be pointed anywhere near peoples eyes. I just want one with a beam that isn't very visible...

Honestly? So it's less likely to be seen when I'm using it outside and at school. I'm a jr, in case your wondering. I actually am allowed to have lasers on campus (because I'm in third year technical theater, and we use them a lot.) Also if I'm ever just chillin outside, bored, and want to burn...
