    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

The driver still works on the testload, 3.5v and 260ish miliamps... i wish i could test the diode on something else...

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

I got my LPC815 diode and soldered wires too it using a 15w soldering iron. I didnt hold the iron for more than a second at a time against the pins. My solders seem good. I figured that the driver was underpowering so i would be safe trying the diode. I hooked it up and got nothing. The driver...

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Btw, Toke i cant thank you enough for trying to help me.

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Tried shorting it, no change. I did have an incident where the modulation terminal was soldered to the 102 resistor next to it. However i did my best to right the situation before applying power and now i can run a screw driver clearly between the two connections. Thats the only thing i can...

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Also i have a diode connecting vcc to the mode terminal on the bottom... with the anode connected to vcc.

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

My battery pack is producing 5.86 volts currently with 4 AA batteries.

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Alright i got everything working but the max output i am seeing is 265ish mila amps. Does this seem right for 4 AA's. I was hoping for more. For reference i am using a 1 ohm resistor and 4 diode testload.

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Nope no test load, which now that i think about it a pretty dumb mistake. Will set it up with a cheap laser diode next time im testing. Oh well at least its a $3.75 mistake. Ive read the thread "how to make your Aixiz diver work. That is the only thread i could find on here about it. So just...

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

I am y confused with just powering the thing. I understand that I can use 6 volts. But what difference would using 4 AA's vs 4 1.5 v button cells? It would actually be nice to run the thing off the smallest power source possible but my goal is 200mw... And I can't imagine button cells putting...

    AA batteries and Aixis Driver?

Ok i am new to the world of electronics but i am learning fast :undecided: i would like to power my Aixis driver powering a LPC815 diode with 4 normal 1.5v AA batteries. This makes 6 volts correct? Will this over power anything or even work? Depending on the success of this build i might go...

Broken wicked lasers core, what to do...?

Checked it with outside source. Powered right up. Must have been a bad battery connection inside the case. Im thinking i might make a new case for it and reglue the sensor to the front. Thanks for the advice. I kinda like being able to adjust the lens.

    Planning first build

I feel this thread is misplaced. I would like to delete this and restart in the red laser category.

    Planning first build

Sorry if my wording was poor, i am planning on using a metal casing and pressing in the laser housing and laser into it. The thermal paste is to try and improve the conductivity between the casing and the housing. Unless that is what you meant wouldn't work... My bad TTL was mentioned in the...

    Planning first build

Hello all i am new here and planning my first laser build. The goal is to make the lowest price highest power (i know i just want my cake and to eat it too :) ) red laser i can in a relatively small housing. (i will be mounting the housing into metal casings with thermal paste to act as...

Broken wicked lasers core, what to do...?

Well, it just stopped working one day. It is just over a year old and it died. You hit the button and there is no response. I will check around with a multi meter tomorrow.

Broken wicked lasers core, what to do...?

I have a wicked lasers core, which was one of my favorite little toys until it stopped working. I figured i may as well take it apart to learn something or to possibly fix or modify it, i have nothing to loose. Now i have taken it apart, but got a bit heavy handed and knocked the black plastic...
