My first beam shots! 1watt 445nm

@DJNY - Appreciate it. I am working on some nice shots of my 300mw LOC 650nm now. Figured out a bunch of new techniques since these shots. Less distortion and better beam consistency! Be up tonight prob so check them out if you can...

My first beam shots! 1watt 445nm

Yeah the 3rd and 4th ones where my fav also. The last 3 or so i changed positions and my breathing started to get in the way a bit. Thanks for the nice comments and +rep on post! Appreciate you taking a min to check them out!:thanks:

The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm 1,700mW DIY Creation

Re: The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm DIY Creation Oh i am using Duracell 3v lithium batteries not rechargeable li-ions. So thats why i mean like after a few seconds of use at around 1amp they fall bellow 3volts a piece, so would you say 4 of them would be better. I have checked and after only a few...

The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm 1,700mW DIY Creation

Re: The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm DIY Creation I have been unsure what minimum volt i need cause i am using a140 445nm diode & lm317 linear driver i only had 1/4 watt resistors so i went with 5 in parallel = 1.5ohms which gives me 930ma max. anyways do the extra resistors use any extra volt or...

My first beam shots! 1watt 445nm

These are just my first Beam Shots ever... I never could figure out how to get a good beam shot so I spent a bit looking through my cameras manual at the features :fightin:. Anyways here they are. Laser Diode: Nichia A140 445nm (purchased from Stonetek.org) @ 940mA w/AIXIZ Glass 445nm Lens...

    445 diodes expected life

from what I read they are run around 600mA in the Casio. I have the spec sheet right here that I printed off stonetek after purchasing mine but its a Engineering Sample specs so no lifetime... Just dont allow overheating and she should last!

The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm 1,700mW DIY Creation

Re: The "Blue Ninja" - 445nm DIY Creation those o-like modules really that much better at heat dissipation? I have my A140 running at 940mA and without any heatsink (Waiting on laserlands) gets hot enough to burn skin in 5-10 seconds! I did use AS5 on the threads of aixiz module and around the...

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

Thank you all for input I did finally get the piece of dust or whatever it was off the lens using a toothpick, but it did melt a spot into the window itself :cryyy: Its a bit better than it was but there is nothing more that I can do. Thanks everyone

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

ok thanks everyone so just to clarify by saying it still works fine, Is there any performance, Life loss anything degrading or actually improving>?

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

Just want to make sure umm wont that just scratch the heck out of it and make it worse? BTW it is already melted on there i believe (sure looks like it)

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

Not sure what Peta-amps means But i have it running at 940mA max

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

yes it is on the Diode Can Window.

    Plastic window on A140 Diode

Ok i had noticed that on my new 445nm build that there was a distorted spot in the middle of the beam that could clearly be seen. I though it was just the aixiz acrylic lens that I was using since it didn't show up till a few days after building it so I figured the lens Just started to melt...

Driver built for 445nm A140 Diode

Thank you very much I was feeling quite disappointed as this is my best driver to date and I felt proud of its layout, design and neatness. Yet you are the first to say anything good about it!:D Thanks for the post:thanks:

Driver built for 445nm A140 Diode

That is just the way i saw it done on some utube video a while ago. Thought that was how had to be done? is it not??

Driver built for 445nm A140 Diode

This is my latest circuit for my 445nm A140 Diode. I am posting to give ideas maybe to people looking to build a linear driver. I am also looking for any suggestions for next design (anything to add or change). Parts: -LM317t Adjustable voltage regulator attached to TO-220 Heatsink using...

    aixiz module disassembly help

ok, and whats the problem... I was just adding my method to the thread incase someone cam across it and was able to use the information. Was unaware that there was some thing wrong with this!

    Laser Driver (DDL) Schematic

Thanks for all the info on my driver! I did use a multi-turn pot after finding out the hard way how bad the single turn pot was that i originally used. The single turn pot only worked at the final 5 degree of the turn. lol So i removed that and replaced with a multi turn which worked out way...
