Can 1 watt 445nm blind you?

The thing is b5s402. When you say the doctor uses a laser to fix your retina, you have to consider the precision of the tool he is using. You have no idea of the exposure he is giving you. Nor do I for that matter but I bet it is focused with precision, it is securely fixed and not allowed to...

Almost a laser, and it can light a match too.

More importantly, check out the safety glasses that dude has! Where do I get a set of those?

Burn Paper INSIDE Balloon! w/Laser - YT Video ;-)

Anyway, I know I helped diverge this thread but it's probably a good time to stop before it gets deleted. Netscott you have me wondering now whether that experiment could be used to demonstrate the theory behind a hot air balloon? Not sure if the theory is altered in any way by having the...

Burn Paper INSIDE Balloon! w/Laser - YT Video ;-)

Hydrogen filled balloon is fun. Let me suggest NOT to try oxy acetylene mixture from a welding kit. It doesn't end well for ear drums

18650 Aurora Host - Pic HEAVY

I would assume it is a Jayrob kit, but I did not build it so cannot be 100% sure.

    Getting a laser into australia

"Wow -- the troubles of you folks down under make me glad I'm in the old US-of-A where we are free too... import... anything... oh well -- never mind. </sarc>" Hahahaha, that line would be even funnier if you could say it with a Cuban cigar sticking out the corner of your mouth....oh...

Video: Very Simple Homebuilt Laser Projection Microscope - Seriously Cool!

Re: Video: Laser Projection Microscope - Seriously Cool! Yeah the cat is hilarious! I reckon next, someone needs to hit that drop of water with a "SteriPen" which is something like 254nm wavelength and then switch back on the laser to see if those microbes are still as energetically motoring...

    Laser

You would have had the laser on a tripod or something though? The exposure looks to be about 3 seconds from the traffic. SO the laser must have been super still. Good work.

    Laser

DJNY, is that photo one of yours? If so do you have some notes somewhere on how you took this, what laser etc.? That is an awesome shot.

Can 1 watt 445nm blind you?

I'd be tempted to treat the goggles like a bullet proof vest. Wear it for protection but I wouldn't get my mate to give me a direct hit just to see if it works.

    what will happen !!

Interesting point though. How efficient is a mirror at reflecting the light (ie. if you bounced an extremely powerful laser off the mirror would it just bounce off forever or would it eventually burn the silver oxide off the back of the mirror and then pass through behind the mirror?).

    Unique Lasers

And assuming a somewhat similar inefficiency the black laser may need to be heated to stop it from freezing too far below operating temperature. Maybe you could bolt the laser heatsink to the black laser heatsink and then it would maintain them both at ambient. Or in the ideal world if they...

    Unique Lasers

hahaha I like this thread. My question would be: Would the black (hole) laser have a minus power rating, so that if you point a -500mW black (hole) laser at a 500mW laser, it would suck up all of the light from the other laser and maybe even charge the batteries!
