LVYI looks like shit. 1W 445nm Green laser <-- 445nm isn't green!

Received a lens that i bought from AixiZ ebay shop. Sold as a 405m lens, reflects a golden tint. Haven't got a chance to try it in a laser yet tho...

Anyway, i made a test load out of four diodes 1N5404 (max 3A) and a 1ohm 5W resistor. And a 10kohm resistor betwen anode and kathode to discharge the capacitor in the flexdrive. Here's a pic while tuning the flex drive for the 445nm LD. DMM at the bottom is showing millivolts over the resistor...

Nice test rig! But you should put a heatsink on the LM317. Doesn't really need to be at big one, just something.

Bottom line is? I've been reading a lot of different recommendations from different people, in many threads. Some say 4 diodes + 1ohm, others say 6 diodes + 0,1ohm.

But is there any danger in putting a glass lens with AR coating for red (aka standard AixiZ glass lens) in a 445nm pointer? I get that there will be some light reflecting back into the diode and that energy will become heat, resulting in light output loss and shorter duty cycle. But could it...
