Help With Ophir Head and Panel Meter-1 Battery

Yup ... I used a fixed 5V LM1117 in my build and it works great with a switchmode regulated 12V wall wart. I scoped the output and there was minimal ripple on the +6V rail (~25mV P-P) and almost dead flat on the virtual ground.

Help With Ophir Head and Panel Meter-1 Battery

The following circuit splits any voltage input in half ... i.e. a 12V wall wart will give you +6 and -6VDC. You can still use two 9V batteries for +9/-9V, but with a simple hookup. To use a panel meter on the same supply, you simply hook up a 7805 or LM1117/5V to the +V and virtual ground and...

    FS: Jib Drivers 1.25A & 1.8A

They will not because they are explicitly set to 1.8A with the resistors. Those early "maxed" out drivers had resistors that set the current limit beyond the capabilities of the IC, so they relied on the IC circuitry to current/heat limit itself. The better the heatsinking and the more...

    FS: Jib Drivers 1.25A & 1.8A

Re: FS: Jib Drivers 1.8A & 1.25A Stuffing those caps is a pain in the arse! Its tedious work for sure. When I have time I'll put feducials on the PCBs so they are pick and place machine friendly.

    FS: Jib Drivers 1.25A & 1.8A

Re: FS: Jib Drivers 1.8A & 1.25A Heatsink example with "fingers" broken off an old motherboard heatsink: For the 1.8A you will want to thermally epoxy it to the inside of the pill, or if space allows it, the inside wall of the host, or on the heatsink itself.

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Moh is taking over sales of my drivers on LPF. Please visit his FS thread >>here<< to purchase. OP purchase link now points to Moh's FS thread.

WTB: LPM with fast response (Ophir?) sensor.

Well ... You would need 12V for the 7810 to regulate 10V since the dropout is 2V. But other than that I don't see why not.

WTB: LPM with fast response (Ophir?) sensor.

I have mine of the same power source:eg: I used the same panel that Lazeerer linked to. 12VDC ->Dual Rail Circuit->+6VDCRail->LM1117(5VFixed Version)->Panel

WTB: LPM with fast response (Ophir?) sensor.

The drawing does not show the tap for the virtual ground at +18VDC.

WTB: LPM with fast response (Ophir?) sensor.

You can also use a 12VDC wall wart with the circuit in >>this<< post to power the head.

3A Test Loads by JIB - Sold Out.

Im still around Y'all ... just not as often ... I never stated I was leaving the forum completely :p Its just that my attention is other priorities right now and I do not have the time and resources to continue driver R&D and selling.

Has anyone had experience making a (negative) regulating version of the DDL ?

The driver's negative becomes the common positive plane, it should be tied to the battery positive or case.

    X-Drive From Lazeerer

It was a toaster oven, he already stated that and I helped him on how to do it. Hot air stations are good for reworking a single components or maybe doing one small board, but are bad for reflowing bigger boards or a batch of boards as they only cover a small area at a time. They are also bad...

    How about Texas laser systems?

This address is only 3 miles from my place ... I will go there tomorrow and see if its a legit location: 4460 Western Center Blvd. #130 Fort Worth, TX 76137 EDIT: This is a shopping strip that I visit often as it has a few restaurants I go to often ... THERE IS NO TEXAS LASER SYSTEMS THERE!

    X-Drive From Lazeerer

I hope to see them on sale soon too :) The "baby" is the same dimensions as my LM1117 Jib Driver. These PCBs are made at the same Fab as my stuff and are really high quality ... I cant wait to see them in action!
