Anyone ever shine their 1W+ 445 on one of these?

Nope, that red piece in the picture melts (it's wax) when there is a fire and releases the water.

Has anyone here ever hurt their eyes?

The stuff we get in the states isn't even from Australia, it's brewed in Canada.

The battery is probably bad, China is notorious for cheap generic batteries. When you put a battery in the charger the light should turn orange while the battery is charging.

Re: Arctic: Spyder III: Review That black piece is just there to keep you from getting fingerprints on the lens when you change caps. If it just has a hole in it then it should not be robbing any power.

Spyder III Pro Arctic - Questions Answered

You can fix the bad beam specs by tightening a retaining nut. http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/arctic-forming-rectangular-shape-53740-2.html#post756997 Depends on how much power the diode is running at, in lower power modes it is not a bar (and not running in multimode).

    The thread about "real" goggles/glasses. . .

Re: I thought I would post my Arctic glasses observations here . . . How is that not helpful? He spoke with Maximum PC (the ones you got that photo from) and apparently they told him they purchased extra glasses (explains whey they have two kinds).

The glasses that come with the Arctic are rated OD7+. As pointed out in another thread they appear to be style #35 from NOIR. NoIR LaserShields: Laser safety goggles and laser glasses for all laser applications. Laser safety glasses, eye protection and laser windows from the manufacturer

Have you even looked at the pictures that have been posted of the glasses? They have an OD rating on them, they also appear to have glass lenses, you're not going to burn a hole in them.

Give me your tired, your poor...

My mistake on the tablet, but it is also written on a plaque in the Statue of Liberty Museum at the base.
