HI guys, I have finished building my 445nm laser set at 1A yesterday. Everything concerning the laser itself is fine but I found that it sometimes wouldn't work when the switch at the back was fully screwed in. I can turn it on only when the switch is screwed halfway in or using any other metal...

Thanks but what do you mean by "monitor the current"? I used a dummy load made out of 4 diodes and a 1 ohm resistor(which I measured using a multimeter and it ended up being a 2 ohms resistor..)

Actually, I asked this because one of my friends wants to make a 1W green laser. I don't really like green lasers so I don't know much about them yet!!! I thought you would simply give me an answer instead of laughing at my ignorance! This is getting really complicated!!!

I bought 2 ultrafire aaa batteries and i soldered a wire where the 3rd battery should be! I'll make an heatsink out of a piece of aluminium and it'll be ready! I'll post some pictures of it soon!(about 3 weeks) :drool:

My host was made to fit 3 AAA batteries(It's about 1 inch in diameter and less than 2" in lenght.:bumpit: I'll go to the store and see if there are batteries that fit in my host that give 6-7V! Thanks
