Exactly. If you're going to wear goggles for outside pointing you might as well get a weaker laser. Getting a powerful laser just to block out 99% of the light makes no sense.

Looking at the beam won't hurt your eyes. Looking at the dot close up can be harmful, especially on reflective and light colored surfaces. You should be fine if you are only planning use it for pointing outdoors, the only thing you will have to worry about are reflective things like road signs.

That explains a lot of things... Did you warn them about the dangers of lasers? Even though it's not a 800 megawatt laser (:whistle:) it is still powerful enough to burn a retina. I'm surprised his camera is still working fine.

The comments he makes on other videos are stupid as well, here is an example: He is actually trying to correct people...

When I stumbled upon these videos on youtube I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This kid really seem to believe that his laser puts out 800 megawatts. I don't think he even know what a watt is. In one of the videos he shines it on a bird, but it is so weak that the bird doesn't even care...

Rayfoss just added some new lasers to their site: www.rayfoss.com 205$ + 6$ shipping = 211$ They claim it to have both a circular dot and a divergence of <1.5 mrad, while still being 1w. I was under the impression that the optics needed to make the beam round reduces the power quite a bit...

Your laser will be focusable so you can already focus it down to a tiny dot. You don't need any additional optics for burning.

My laser works in the opposite way, its gets weaker when warm. Weird...

That laser will probably be far from 300mw, you would have to be very lucky to get a 300mw green laser at that price. I would've bought a 200mw from o-like/beamcheap or rayfoss instead, their lasers are more likely to be up to spec and they have better customer support.

I have heard good things about the ledshoppe 50mw and O-like is generally good too. I don't know about amazon.

The battery charger made a *poof* sound while charing and i think i saw some sparks too. Both the charger and batteries seems fine though. Is this something to worry about?

Isn't it the old syle dilda that has a problem with a loose head? I don't have that problem atleast. The head on mine is very smooth, it seems to be lubed. EDIT: Wow, this laser is amazing... no complaints at all. the batteries wasnt fully charged when i recieved it but after i charged them it...
