    Laser with common battery?

A few years ago I bought my first green laser off of ebay which was very close in looks (if not identical) to this... Stylish 5mW 5 mW 532nm Green Beam Laser Pointer Pen New - eBay (item 280572810176 end time Dec-07-10 11:53:28 PST) ...but I don't think that is who I bought it from. It was...

    5mW vs 50mW

Yeah you've described my ebay pen. How do you know the output power of yours? Is there a way to measure it?

    5mW vs 50mW

I bought a 5mW green pen from ebay long before I found this site. I thought it worked great. Good beam visibility and distance. Next I bought a 50mW module from O-Like. Tonight we compared them side by side and we could tell no difference. Any ideas on what is happeing? Is the O-like...

What increases side view of beam?

Two questions... 1. So with particles held constant the only variable is power? 2. Why is green typically visible when red is not?

What increases side view of beam?

What increases the visibility of a side view of a laser beam? (Without depending on particles in the air) Power? Beam width? Magic?

low power - high duty cycle?

Should I use a heat sink for this application? If so where should I get one?

low power - high duty cycle?

Nice! I'mm ordering one right now! Any recommendations for such a power supply? Thanks Jerry! I'll bet the FS mirrors would really make it look nice though.

low power - high duty cycle?

I don't care about battery life or being hand held. It will be connected to an AC power supply anyway. It will be mounted on the wall so any size is ok. I hadn't got to the mirror yet but are FS mirrors a necessity?

low power - high duty cycle?

Sorry! USA. Did you have a specific recommendation for a high duty cycle laser?

low power - high duty cycle?

What are some options for a low power (5mW), high duty cycle (100%?) green laser? It does not need to be hand held or portable. Side view of the beam is important but I can enhance it with fog. I was thinking about building a game where kids avoid tripping a laser beam. If you trip the beam...
