Just use darlington transistors to increase the gain on the setup. it worked for me :) Its all about getting the transistor fully saturated at a voltage below the peak amplitude of the sound output. You could probably use a 555 setup as a shmidt trigger with the output going to the transistor...

do these modules use 9mm 808nm pumps? if so could you take the driver off and use a more precise one to push up the output to real 200mw? or would the crystal crack in a pointer setup? any idea what the power of the pump is in this module? 1000mw? if not could u put a known 1000mw pump in? thanks :)

I'm not sure what you mean by boost driver? am i barking up the wrong tree by saying this? o-like sell an ld driver that has a ttl input... you could just pulse it with a 555 timer and maybe even modulate it with pwm if you wanted?

A pc PSU is all i have ever used! The driver i use goes up to 500ma which is fine for most laser projects i do and it has a wide voltage input rage of something like 4.5-20v which means it is just fine to run it from the 12 power rail of even a 100 watt PSU. I have now added a model of the standard c-mount laser diode package. pls tell me if this is incorrect as i think these packages vary a bit. I have uploaded a pic of the library as it stands at the moment. pls comment so that i know if this is helpfull to anyone. :)
