    music driven laser

The green has a normal o-like driver, and the reds drivers appear to be very simple little things. The operating current on the green is <350mA, which is a bit higher than the reds which are at 25 and 40mA. I did my best to measure the current, and it was hanging out around 15mA. I had a...

Converting a Laser Pointer to Mains

I think it would hold up for quite a while, I had the diodes heatsinked along with intake and outtake fans. My build was a bit sloppy looking though. I just pulled it all apart a few days ago so I could redo it, I literally just finished powder coating the new project box parts. I'm just...

Converting a Laser Pointer to Mains

I've used the power setup in this scanner tutorial by rog8811: It can be done - Liquid sky the only thing i did differently was add a surge protector to the mix, which probably isn't even needed:)

    High power kaleidoscopic blue-ray

that looks like a regular blu pointer with a few diffraction caps.

    Beam shape

If you have an old tft or lcd screen (from computer or even in an old color screen cell phone) lying around you can pull it apart. There are several layers of plastic behind the front panel... Shining a laser through them individually produces some very nifty effects, one of which is a clear...

    music driven laser

thanks for the advice, i'll give that a try. I was able to get the greens to run off this, but they were incredibly dim. I'll try the higher transistor and boost the incoming voltage a bit.

    music driven laser

really? thats interesting, maybe i can solve the power issues by looking over the flexmod specs?

    music driven laser

If I can figure out how to either get the green to respond, or how to get more power safely into the reds then I will definitely get some video. As it is now, its just too dim.

    music driven laser

The other day I put together a very simple music driven led box, and it occurred to me that the same concept might just work with a laser. Basically it involves a transistor (i used a TIP31) and an audio cable. I originally found the diagram for this setup on instructables, but keep in mind it...

Bats (flying rodents) and bluray lasers...

I've noticed that whenever I fire my bluray up into the night sky, the bats in nearby trees go completely insane. Not only do they squak like a flock of angry geese, but they swarm the area randomly almost in a frenzy. Anyone else notice this? Normally the bats around here swoop at dusk and...
