I was running it at level 8, the optimum current level that Jack stated. I do notice it seems to do it more on a lower battery. I guess I will have to perform this test on a full one. Thanks man.

Well, I know it's normal for DPSS lasers to mode shift as it's just one of those things that go along with it. But what is acceptable and what isn't, I'm not too sure. Here is a video of my RPL-260. It's of the spot with the laser being about ~25ft back. The camera has a red filter to help...

Yep, somethings not right with the Opto Pen. At an average of ~170mw, you would be able to light a match no problem. Even with a <1.5mm beam diameter. I'm sure Jack will get you taken care of. Don't you mean: 150mW/(Pi *(0.75mm)^2) And: 100mw/(Pi*(0.5mm)^2) ?

I'm not sure. What I'm thinking of is a "clear" like gel. So maybe a clear epoxy. :beer:
