got it all fixed, and turned the pot up while it was out. all is well :) I do have another question though? I have a spare driver from a 50mw green pen. Can i put that driver on a red diode? I have a red pen as well thats pretty weak. pulled it apart and its junk. all hot glued together...

haha alright, figured as much, I'll solder it back. What about the ground wire. It looks like the case should be positive. Is this not a ground wire, because for some reason it doesnt seem like it would make sense if the case was positive and the was a ground touching it as well
