I bypassed the resistor. The gain is barely visible with stock 3v. What about CD-R diodes? Are these of any use like DVD-R diodes? The search function doesn't like short terms or no one ever asked for it. :)

If you'd have said that the diode is very likely working at the max already and pot modding may not lead to satisfying results it would have been a useful post. :tired: I don't want any burning lasers, just a little more light. Nothing more. And that should be possible with a pot mod, shouldn't it?

Hi, is it possible to boost this laserpointer by removing the resistor or substitute it by a variable one or maybe by driving more voltage? Its like 6-7 years old i think and cost around 50Eur back in the days in a local store. The laser unit is filled with epoxy and the lens is screwable (plastic).
