Yes.. listen to phoenix... even the reflection of the laser off of things can mess with your eyes, especially with the high powers you're dealing with.
Well I think I'll give it another year or so before I look into buying a blue. As awesome as they are, I would hate to spend hundreds on one now when they will be like $20 in the future.
Sounds like fun! My parents would freak out if a bunch of chemicals were delivered to our house, so it'll be a couple years before I can do anything like this.
Some videos would be nice ! (especially of the xbox :D)
That's insane.. I would never throw away that much money to see how much these can put out. If I had one of these diodes, I would be afraid to run it over 40 mW. lol
How long do you guys think we'll be waiting before the price of blues comes down to a more reasonable price?
I was just about to buy some 10440's on ebay and something told me I should check here first. Glad I did cuz Kendall sells them cheaper and they don't ship from Hong Kong. :D
So if I understand correctly, I only need this host, a diode and a battery to have a fully operational laser? (I've never built a laser before but this sounds simple)
If so, sign me up for a Beast.
I think someone mentioned the 50 mW from Ledshoppe.com... I just wanted to say that I recommend it. It is WAY brighter than my 120 mW blu-ray, so yeah. Green is the way to go if you want to see the beam.
I attached a picture taken in my room with no light (with my crappy camera). You can see...
Sorry to be off topic here, but about the whole date system...
When you read it, you say "June 1st, 2009" right? So shouldn't you write the month first?
Or do you say "1st June, 2009"?
Just got my blu-ray today. It was already put together and working right out of the package and it came with a printout of the laserbee power graph. It works great!
Thanks Matt!
