Actually, I just found one of your threads that specify how much I need, and it looks like I need a minimum of 7 volts. I wish I could just find the batteries I need locally :(

I just bought one of your Micro-Drive V2 off of ModWorx's shop, and I was wondering if you knew off the top of your head how much total voltage it would take to power that driver and a phr diode, I need to see if the host I have can support the voltage I need to power both.

Tutorial: Side Button 'Pocket Pal' Laser Build!

Re: Tutorial: Side Button 'Pocket Pal' Laser Build My plastic piece that holds the switch got destroyed as I took it out of the flashlight, but I had the crappy kind of host that Silent_Dawn had. I was wondering if this plastic piece was necessary to hold the switch in, or if you just tossed...

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Well, as I was soddering the wires to the LD, one of the pins snapped off, it still works, but now it's nearly impossible for me to sodder a wire to a broken pin that's flush with diode, very sad. Maybe I'll go purchase an 803t diode to mess around with if I can't fix this one.

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Sorry for the double-post, but since I can post links now, I can post a schematic I found regarding using both laser pointers, does this one look any good to you guys?  The guy who wrote this looks like he's a student of MIT, so hopefully he knows what he's talking about...

Tutorial - My 'Pocket Pal' Blu-ray Laser!

Would the vic-light with the 8 LED's and built in red laser pointer work just as easily? I assume they are probably built the same except instead of a center LED, there's a red laser point. Besides, I bought 5 of them cause they were like 5 bucks each.

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

I really would like to take advantage of both lasers in this diode, but I'll keep looking for a sound driver before I attempt it. I have a drive build to run only the violet laser, but I don't have a problem with drilling out a housing to fit a second switch in there.

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Yeah, I figured I had to narrow it down with a potentiometer, what I was asking was if it sounded right, about an estimated resistance of 1.4k ohm. I have a driver already built and ready to go, but I need to get a bigger potentiometer, right now I only had a 25 ohm potentiometer in there...

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Now is that a 10 microferrat +16 V Max ceramic disk capacitor?   And to pianoman2011, I'm new to laser circuitry, but not new to electronics.  Basically, I don't know a whole lot about how drivers tend to work, but if you gave me a schematic, i could sure build ya one :P .  I going to school in...

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Thank you everyone, I realized the reason why I couldn't find any information was that I hadn't thought of the right keywords for the search. This should get me started and hopefully I'll be able to take care of everything myself from now on.

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

Any recommendations for current regulation of a KES-400a PS3 LD? A specific component name would be monstrously helpful ;D

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

I was not planning on making the kipkay resistor drive, I guess I as trying to make the point that I'd never use it. So my question remains, what would you use to regulate the current for such a low power diode, as well as the other components that you would need. I have the diode and the aixiz...

    Building a laser using a KES-400a , need help!

I've tried the search function and I've found lots of threads mentioning KES-400a laser diodes, but no tutorials on how to build them.  I'm not looking on how to build a laser with the 803t diode!  Seeing as how the laser will be relatively low-powered, I believe a maximum of 30mw, does this...

Hello all, not new to lasers, but new to building

Re: Hello all, not new to lasers, but new to build Thanks everyone, hopefully I'll be able to get going on my new laser. I've been really obsessed with building one because my mom recently lost my green laser pointer that I let her borrow for a weekend, and I've been mourning it's loss. I payed...

Hello all, not new to lasers, but new to building

I decided to join this forum because it seemed like such an excellent wealth of information, but I also wanted to be able to ask some questions. I recently came into acquisition of an original PS3 blu-ray laser assembly(not a replacement) and I wanted to build a laser out of it. However, I'm not...
