do you have a good picture of this test you are talking about? I want to make sure I do it correct. So, I would be removing the LD and not having it connected during the load test? What about the resistors, diode and cap in the circuit? Are they used during the load test?

well, I guess I shouldn't have cropped the pics. Makes the dot look better I guess. Yeah it's dim. There is only about a night and day difference from when I had it hooked to the breadboard and then on the PCB.

yeah, I'm using 4 N batteries. With the pot at highest resistance I am reading about 45mA. With the pot at its least resistance I am reading about 247mA. And 1.25V between vout and adj.

why 6 batteries? I thought all I needed was 6V ?? 4 1.5v batteries = 6V are you saying I need 9V??? then why not just use a 9V battery? yeah, I'll try and reposition the resistors when I get a chance.

I haven't changed the resistors to the correct way yet. I'm not sure how you want me to get the ref voltage. I tried going from the heatsink to the adj pin and it didn't read anything. The only way I can read V there is to go from ground to one of the 3 pins. Power had 5.95v, vout had 5.55, and...
