    laser driver problems!

    So i built a driver using-a 25 ohm pot, lm317 adjustable voltage regulator, Bread board, 2x 10 ohm resistors, IN4001 diode, 35 volt 47uf capacitator. But when i measure the voltage, it gives me up to 7.70+ volts!! Im planning to put a 803T 405 NM Blu ray. Sorry about the blurry pics, i took them...
