    Laser diode broken?

    Out of desperation, I gave up and directly hooked up the laser diode to my 123 lithium batteries, 3 volts. (Yes, i know it's going to kill the diode, but atleast it's better than crying over a non working dorcy jr.) and guess what? The result was not any better than a dollar store keychain...

    Where does this wire go on my dorcy mod? Making lasers are so frustrating! Last time I only got a weak red dot, so I ordered a new diode, but the results are same!
