AAA NiHM or alkaline batteries for green pointer ?

I have three 50mW lasers twom from DX and one from o-like. All threec are powered by 2 AAA batteries. When I try alkalines all three work fine. When I try NiMH it is dependant on the type: fully charged it works best but one DX is still rather dim. I measured the current : the alkalines (open...

50mW green laser is very dim or not on at all

Guys, Since summer 2008 I have two DX green 50mW lasers one pot modded and one 'true' 50mW. Until last summer they worked without problems although sometimes they got sometimes dimmer but after using longer they worked again normally. Now after 3 months of non usage they did not function...

Why do I see a apeckle pattern in laser light ?

When I point my laser pointer (regardless what color) at a bright surface, the bright spot reflects and acts as a bright light source. But the area illuminated by the laser has a strange speckle pattern. No, there is no error in my eyes as I see the same surface when illuminated by an...

    Green laser with effects

During my Bali trip I saw at Hardy's shop in Sanur some guys offering lasers with special diffraction effects. I bargained one and got one for Rp 200k which is about $20. It is real fun. It is sold with three different diffraction heads which I tried on the red and 405nm blacklight laser as well...

Photo of red laser dot is WHITE !!

Maybe more a photography problem, but when taking a picture of the red laser dot results in white. Maybe the depth of image of a camera is far less than the human eye (which sees it as really BRIGHT RED). I used a Canon eos 40 and show in RAW which I converted to jpg. Does anybody take better...

Hi all, Here a re-post of my laser video of the violet laser from DX for $50, real fun ! Rather dim compared to my other two red and green but that is because its wavelength is near the limit of vision (405nm). YouTube - Blacklight laser 20mW from Dealextreme The laser is ffocusable...

Red and green laser dots compared

Here I took some pics of a 50mW greenie and 200mW reddy together projected on buildings. On the bottom photo it is clear that the dots are rather large about half a meter diameter which means a beam divergence of 0.001 radian. Sometimes the red is smaller because it has an adjustment lens. The...

Is this $50 blacklight laser from DX OK ?

I found on DealExtreme this 405nm (blacklight color) laser for $50 while all other sky-blue ones (473nm) cost over $300. DealExtreme: $49.99 20mW Blue-Violet Laser Flashlight (2*CR2 Included) Is this one OK because of the low price compared to the other blues ?

    Compare red and green lasers

I used a multimeter to meassure the light of a red and green laser by pointing the laser to th wall from 20cm distance and holding the luxmeter sensor also 20cm from the wall to measure the reflection from the wall. The results: 200mW red: 135-140 lux 50mW green: 220-230 lux Also for the...
