Yes? No? Maybe? i have never worked with this before (see pic), but to avoid heating my diode all together except for initial extraction sounds like a good plan. what do you guys think? Should i try it? also, while i got a topic, whats considered the best solder type for use with diodes?

Hey guys! just wanting some opinions on the best/most efficient/fastest ways to extract a diode from a heatsink, i use a mini hacksaw, its slow (mabs coz im a nub :P) but it gets the job done :) how do the pro's do it?
