    Missing or absent Members List

Unfortunately same here - don't even know what's hot (and what's not) in terms of diodes and power output anymore *sigh* Just too many hobbies and too little time... more important for me now are things I can enjoy all of the time. I can't whip out a 700mW pointer at the office, nor can I whip...

    445nm Lens Comparisons!

Jay, I think it's also correct to say that the lenses are optimized for their associated wavelengths, no?

What's the scariest PC game you've ever played?

I-do-I-do!!! But those days are long gone. I'd be really amazed if you could even get AvP to work. With some luck, maybe AvP2 (not that it would be worth it). As for Doom, I bought it along with Doom II, Duke Nukem and yes, the very first "3D" game ever, Wolfenstein - for my GBA (/DS) ;) I...

What's the scariest PC game you've ever played?

I loved it! Agreed, the first one being the best. Another winner... loved it!!! And now for my entry... System Shock 2. You guys heard of Bioshock, right? (also pretty scary in their own right) - well, System Shock was the original, System Shock 2 having taken it one level higher ... :evil...

    Cool Knife.

A custom-custom... It took 14 months* (a 12-mth wait, a couple of weeks to design, a month to make)... *Fortunately for us the DYIers here are a bit more accessible...

I likes the tron Wow, very cool! I wouldn't mind having something like that - I love everything about my Kenometer... besides the damn-ugly box... Congratulations - very creative :gj: p.s. - Is the cover off / in the works / or undesirable?

    Best in ear headphones?

Ok, a small misunderstanding here - for best bass response I recommend full, closed headphones (as opposed to open air like my Grados). Almost all good-quality full headphones will produce better bass than any in-ear model. For example, AKG's K550s

    Best in ear headphones?

I thought Monster Turbines were in-ear... "open cans" are notable for clarity of sound, not for bass... you're better off with closed-can technology in that case

    Best in ear headphones?

Etymotics' ER-4S + Bithead!!! Yes, best Audio forum by far. I buy all my headphone gear from Headroom - they know what they're talking about too  I have two of Grado's open cans (SR60/SR225) for use in private-areas as well as Etymotics' ER-4S (not going to be your "style" of headphones...

IgorT is sick, and won't be back for a month or so

Igor, along with Dave, Frothy Chimp, Jay, Ken, Jerry & Steve are the ones that got me all crazy about Lazors... Just wish we knew what happened to him. He's also MIA in FB... :(

Fred's block party - "hosted" by Mokuti

Luce in the Sky with Diamonds ...ah, make that Tritium LST LSD is some nasty stuff - and heck, it doesn't even glow (but maybe you will if you mess with that stuff). No, I much rather prefer some LST... Luce in the Sky with Tritium... a.k.a. Photon Fanatic's Luce De Notte  Luce de...

Agreed, he's in a class of his own ;) "Working with"...? Pray do tell... :D Next up, a Luce... :wave:Not a lot of lumens, but with a half-life of 12yrs, operating 24/7, it's in a class of its own too... ;)

I want copper copper copper! (well... maybe not)

Speaking of good-looking hosts, how far down the thermal-conductivity list does Titanium sit?

I want copper copper copper! (well... maybe not)

Agreed - I used the wrong terms (absorb & transfer vs. transfer and dissipate). Thanks for pointing that out :thanks: I was under the impression that Cu absorbs heat more efficiently but is "slow to release" said heat... but I think I'm under-qualified in this group so I will just go sit in the...

I want copper copper copper! (well... maybe not)

I thought the general consensus was that Cu "absorbs" heat more efficiently and Al transfers heat more efficiently.... My CPU HS is actually based on a lapped Cu core welded to Al fins. I do agree with you that chip-cooling applications and LED / Diode cooling are apples & oranges...
