    Laserglow Rigel

Yellow pointers are the more exotic and exciting Laser I ever heard! ::) ::) But too hard to DIY :'(

who knows BRIR laser diode from ebay?

You mean that these diode are difficult to collimate or they are with bad output? Sadly I've read this too late! :o :( I'm already the winner of the item on ebay for 60$! However this diode have more than 5 pins but is ONLY blue(as stated in the auction), not the 3 lasers in one that I mentioned...

    Ultraviolet TEA laser

NST are good for this purpose, but be careful! and you may need to rectify the output and/or add a resistor to lower the current. In my project I used an Helium-Neon(5mW) laser power supply...(but I burned a huge amount of dielectric sheet before get some laser light :o )

    Ultraviolet TEA laser

I've built a tea nitrogen laser, is my first laser!! it is very simple and cheap, but requires many attentions to works well: alignment of electrodes, obtain lower inductance and resistance, etc.. If you use simple air, the performance is very low because of the oxygen present: you will see a...

who knows BRIR laser diode from ebay?

Do you think is good 65 $ for a blu-ray 18 mW laser diode?

    ir laser

Yes I know it very well, my yag can only vapourise black ink paper and similar things when not focused. :-/ I don't know if you remember that but we have talked about this laser on youtube some months ago, I'm rachm06 ;)

    Blu-ray pen-style laser powered by 2x AAAs

Very good! I never used SMD components.... Nice pics...poor cat ;D!!!

    ir laser

Does anyone made an 808 nm class 4 laser pointer ? I think this is the cheaper way to have a very powerful portable burning laser, but I'm doubtful about the beam quality and battery life :-/

    changing laser color

Yes, in general the wavelenght of fluorescence is longer than the pumping light. This is because when a photon hits an electron, this jumps to an upper energy level; than this electron, once in this upper state, loses small part of its energy because this is an unstable condition(by termal...

    changing laser color

Yes you right ;), maybe I'll say obvious thing, but the original laser light remain always the same...the spot that you see on the marker, is a result from the initial 532nm and the emission spectra of the dye used in the marker, (sometimes rhodamine 6G for orange, sodium fluoresceine for yellow...

    changing laser color

The reason of seeing strange colors by shinig a green laser on certain surfaces, is because of fuorescence. For example, if you shine a fluorescent dye(ex. a marker) it absorb green light and emits other light of other color. But the light emitted isn't laser light, only incoherent light. The...

Laser Needed for Tattoo Removal [DIY]

It is possible to make DIY a similar laser. The laser useful for this purpose is Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at high repetition rates. I've made a similar module but not q-switched and at low repetion rates for about 90€ . These lasers works because they burn only the dark part of the skin without...

    IR laser build

Did you get it from the user "snoctony" ? I have the same laser diode, and I used it to build my green DPSS(after done some funny thing with it obviously ::) ::) ) I think this is a very good diode. The power is high, and if you want to run it at the max current, you must glue it to a big...

    IR laser build

Normally the efficiency is lower than expected. In a good DPSS cavity, with temperature monitoring, with a 1Watt 808 you will get around 178 mW of green(average). Usually to obtain 200 mW green the companies uses IR diodes of 1,6 w.

    Hello! I'm new

Thank you all ! Yes I play piano too ;) I'm very grateful that you posted some of my youtube links; I tried to write them, but (I don't know why)the forum don't allow me to post any kind of links...

    Ruby Laser? What is it

It isn't so simple to makea ruby laser.  It is true that Maiman used at first time a metal coating with a hole as OC, but you should notice that in that case the rod was kept at very low temperature(with liquid nitrogen) in order to get a low threshold energy;plus the flashlamp was very big...

who knows BRIR laser diode from ebay?

I can't post the link, but on ebay are listed several laser diodes, called BRIR(blue, red, infrared) at very low price. I'm almost sure that this kind of diode come from PS3, and it is composed by 3 laser: blue, red and infrared(so the driver can read cd, dvd, bluray disc). Does anyone know...

    Hello! I'm new

Hi everyone, I'm from Italy, my name is Lorenzo. I'm studying chemistry at university, but I love laser too 8-) In particular I prefer to build laser myself(when it is possible of course!). Now I've built : - green DPSS laser - Nd:YAG laser , portable! ;) - Nitrogen TEA laser - Red laser...
