I don't have ready access to a multimeter, but really want to use 32600s for my setup. You guys recommend against buying the unprotected in that case?

Well the thing is, I ordered a 650 one. Got a blue one with bad threads. Got a replacement that wasn't blue and havent got my new diodes in, so I'm asking all the questions now.

I'll second that, the emails I received in regards to the threads on the first lens may have well been in a chat window. They type as fast as I do.

lol looks like that was it. Thanks. The only thing that boggles me is that the blue lens is nice and clear, except threads are trash. The other is dirty and obviously not blue. I just searched the store and they only have a glass lens for sale for the red diodes and the ultra violet or 405...

:confused: ok, so they are just plain glass lenses then? Not those expensive 405-g-1 / 650-g-1 lenses? *I just ordered the regular glass lense but I received two different types. Still confused I'll also PM chuck as well.

I've looked up and down on the net and it seems everyone else is having trouble with this as well, but why cant I find any protected 32600 cells?? The only site that sold them (one other also linked them) says they are sold out... does that mean they are trash? They just sold them like crazy...

sorry about that. :P Yes I meant resistor. And the second time I mentioned diodes, I WAS referring to the TVS as you described it. That clears up a lot. I have never heard of using SMDs on the LD itself. Clever. Thats assuming that something in the driver fails to regulate the voltage...

Definately new concepts to me but very interesting. The most Useful to me and my simple design would be the bleeder diode bc the DDL model doesn't include this. I know that after the test load, shorting the capacitor is required before connecting the LD. However, does it need to be shorted after...

Not sure what PWM is or a bleeder resistor, but you mentioned a boost driver boosts voltage. Do they affect current as well?

Also, howabout any other hosts like this, but a little more powerful-- say 1.5A ?

Do you know if mohrenberg or anyone else makes these heat sinks readily available today without having to send a host? I'd really like this simple build and the flashing mode would make for a sort of self defense dazzling device for a female.

I have noticed though that the flexmodP3 is pretty large and ends up using a typical resistor for jumping v+ and m+ since modulation wasn't used on the particular pointer I saw in discussion. Also has three pots and what seems to be a decent size capacitor on the board. If packed tight enough...
