Lithium cr2's are 3.6v IIRC. You could also use a variable power supply.

That's not really an actual picture... It (the beam) could be bigger than that-they don't provide specs. And $85 for a <5mW red laser? IMO not a good deal.

Popping a black balloon inside a clear balloon would be plenty educational IMO.

I've heard that Eneloops are good, and personally, I'd go with them, but I have Rayovac Hybrids-they haven't failed me yet. Just another idea. :P

It's more dangerous because laser light is coherent-all of the photons are moving in the same direction. I don't know if this is right, but I think voltage doesn't matter as much because the driver regulates the voltage down (or up, in the case of boost drivers), to what the diode needs.

Mine doesn't really measure it in time, it's like "+0, +.1, -1.2..." Max is +2.

I took some beamshots. When ever a car came by I had to run and cover the aperture with my hand so they wouldn't stop and watch or call the police.  :o These are taken with the camera I got for Christmas. It's a Nikon "Coolpix". It has long exposure settings, so some of these pictures are taken...

No way... No. Yeah, because it's really easy to accidently stare into a 400mW green laser for 60 seconds. ::)
