yup, and it's under a little shield made of paper so people walking by wont get blinded, no airflow. These diodes are proving quite robust. i want another 10 of them at least
Not very. I'm just taking quick measurements for mode stability right now so I switch currents a lot. The long term diode is running at a smooth non-heatsinked 120mA now though.
It's not too bad of a deal. Whenever I get a hankerin' for some good deep blue, I just go switch it on. I had a great time burning a black card today when no one else was in the lab. haha
the 803T from my testing can put out a lot more than 100mW. I don't know the max or how safe it is to push them that high but I am getting much higher than 100mW. I need to do some more testing before I say exactly what it is putting out cause I feel that maybe the power meter was not calibrated...
I don't know what power we're getting out of it. It's not really readily accessable to power testing the way we have it rigged up. His power meter also only goes to 20mW. He does have a 10X attenuator for it, but I am pretty sure it's putting out somewhere along the lines of all the other diodes.
I don't think it was that. I'm not really sure why it stopped working. I finally got around to running chkdsk from the recovery dvd and it booted up into the chkdsk on the HD which I let run as well and it was fine. The first run of chkdsk said it found and fixed one error but didnt say what it was.
Re: GB & Cleaning Sale for LaserGlow lasers in Jul
If there happens to be a green or blue labby available for under $400 maybe $500 I might be interested depending on output power. This is probably too low of a price to get though. I will start working some funds to see what I can manage.
You could always use eyeglass cleaner. The coatings on lenses just aren't too terribly robust. Then again, a laser pointer generally doesnt need to have a super clean beam profile since our eyes cant pick up on slight imperfections. I guess I'm just use to dealing with optics that you just don't...
You're not really suppose to clean optics, but I would say maybe just water and a lens cloth maybe. Anyone please correct me if thats wrong. I would also say never try to clean the diode window. That's trouble waiting to happen.
