I definitely agree with Dave. Gosh, if a little HeNe is fetching that much on ebay, I must be sitting on a gold mine with the number of HeNe tubes I have. In reality though, that laser is already WAY overpriced.

Hi Carl, I might have a spare umbilical kicking around somewhere. I've done an umbilical transplant before and it can get a bit tricky and very time consuming. If you want me to see if I can find it, send me a PM.

The other thing to very very careful about is that if the laser has been sitting around for very long time, the tube may not light even though everything else in the unit works. Whether $300 is a fair price or not depends on (as 532 with Envy said) what kind of laser it is, how badly you want...

I just looked up the approximate postage to Australia.....over US$150, three times as much as the unit itself. And some people wonder why laser components such as these cost more in Australia. Hey vk2fro, love your pic. Is that your projector? Ciao.

I had a tube like that om my collection, which was new old stock. Most likely, it was sitting around for years without being turned on and that's what killed the tube. I don't think that model JDSU tube has mirrors that can be adjusted either. Mine certainly doesn't.
