    FS: 1600mW 1.5A Guidesman, G1 + 445 lens

Looks like I have way too many lasers here now (five?!?!)- time to thin the herd a bit so I can finance a home build. I'm selling my Guidesman 1600mW 1.5A I bought off MorePower here on the forums last month. It works similar to my 1.6W Aurora (but has a much longer duty cycle), so I decided...

Radiant Alpha calibration? Anyone in Los Angeles with an LPM I can compare to?

Hi Guys! I have a Radiant Alpha LPM. It seems to read low- advertised 1.5-1.6W lasers (with meter photos) seem to read around 1.2-1/3W with mine, and 1.2W lasers read around 1050mW on my meter. Readings are consistent- from day to day the lasers measure out at the same max power/. Is there...

Im done buying... I want to make one!

Okay, I'll admit mine was an older model which was used mostly in the garage for stereo projects. :) The Hakko really is a surgical tool by comparison, and it wasn't that expensive at Fry's Electronics. I still keep my Weller for heavy duty use in the garage, I noticed the Hakko tip heats up...

Im done buying... I want to make one!

My Hakko is 25W. I like the 25-30 better than the lower wattage as the higher heat melts the solder almost instantly- you don't need to hold the tip there for a longer time, which would transmit more heat up the wire and into your diode. I'm a fan o fnice tools, so I like the nicer irons a...

Im done buying... I want to make one!

I just repaired a loose diode wire in my used yobresal build. IF you plan to do a lot of hobby electronics work, get a GOOD soldering iron. I can't even emphasize how much difference it makes. I was able to sodler the diode back up in about 2 minutes- each wire took 2-3 seconds to connect...

Buying and selling through the forums

This sounds ridiculous, but it's helped others before. If you sell more than an item or two a week, it REALLY helps to just keep a paper notebook on your desk. WRITE down the name of guys with paid orders in the order they come in. You won't fall behind and let guys slip through the cracks...

    FS: 2 x SS/Aurora/1.6W w/2 batts&charger*Assembled*

I just picked one up in person today- VERY impressive beam! Buy with confidence! The host is solid, this will be a nice companion to my little lightweight yobresal- but with a 2-3X longer duty cycle I'm betting. Thanks again :) -Dave
