I tested my True 5's output. One was 14mw, and the other two 19/20mw. Going to try and take the 14 apart :)

Sorry Glenn. I had meant to note that they were usually way overspec according to reviews when I started out writing that reply, but managed to completely forget by half way through obviously lol. Any word from CNI regarding our cherries? :D

Thanks for all the replies and info. It's not worth finding CR2s with protection then (assuming they exist)? I may go with a charger + 2x CR2s for £17 that the ebay seller I got my original charger from says he can get me. I asked for some specs and a rough ETA so just waiting to hear back...

Mine arrived today! A little disappointed with the packaging - the foam inserts in the box that hold the pen/batts in place are no where near deep enough in two out of the three units I ordered, that the pen/batts are basically loose inside the box :( I'm still waiting for my laserbee...

Interesting project :) Will it be a day launch? Perhaps you could use a solar cell as a power source? I'm not sure if a small one would generate enough current, but it might do, and the sun is more intense the higher you climb. Another possibility might be a small charged capacitor. Not sure...

I also have an IBM Thinkpad, which I take with me when I'm on the road, and they are nice laptops. Built allot better than some of the crap you can get out there. I'd snap this up if I was in the US, since I'm looking for a laptop for my old man.

I have 3 of the DX "T5s" on the way (shipped 2 days ago) as well as a laserbee, so I hope to be able to post some readings in the next week or two. Also got a "T50" for comparison. Nothing from Focalprice here to test, but if anyone would like to send me one I'll be more than happy to test it...
