    De-Canned NUBM44-V2 (with pics)

Yeah, I'll try to keep a log for it, maybe if I get a LPM, I can better track the output as it degrades. Any recommendations on one?

    De-Canned NUBM44-V2 (with pics)

The 044 that I decanned was V2. The reason I removed the can was because the output was a splash of color on the wall, no matter how I adjusted the lens, there was blue splatter everywhere. At first, I thought I idiotically used the plastic protective lens that came with the module, (it appeared...

    De-Canned NUBM44-V2 (with pics)

I was actually thinking of doing thermal adhesive since that's what I have on hand, but Teflon tape seems like a much better option. Less chance of getting something sticky on the lens and then having no way to clean it.

Thanks for the info, that's a good shot of what the eye can't see, especially while wearing glasses!

    De-Canned NUBM44-V2 (with pics)

A few weeks ago I ordered a couple NUBM44-V2’s. Unfortunately, (due to user error) one of the diodes must have had some sort of particle on the lens. (An expensive lesson learned to always have some canned-air on hand when changing lenses!) This particle was instantly fused to the diode window...

    1W 520nm Nichia NDG7475 T6 Build (w/pics).

Here is the 1W 520nm NDG7475 T6 that I built shortly after the 4W NUBM07 build (since I had another heat sink available at the time). The module was from DTR with a Super X/Drive set to 2.2A. It was the same concept as the previous build, the light green powder coat was the only color green that...

    4W 465nm NUBM07 T6 Build (w/pics).

The diode was already decanned when I got it from dtr, not sure if he did it or got it that way? Unfortunately they don't give me any lathe time. The guy in charge of machining helped me make a couple heat sinks, and gave me a crash course on it, but I'm 'technically' still not signed off to run...

    4W 465nm NUBM07 T6 Build (w/pics).

I thought I'd share my build pics of my 4W 465nm NUBM07 that I built sometime in 2017. Module was from DTR with an X/Drive preset to 3.5A. The build was from a T-6 flashlight and aluminum heatsink that I had turned and powder coated at work. The fab company I work for has a lathe but it is...

    Hello from (near) Pittsburgh..

Hello LPF! Im a new member, but have been coming to the site periodically for info for around 5 years. So I’ve been obsessed with beams since the purchase of my first ‘real’ laser (WickedLasers Executive Fusion 125mw) back in 2007. At that time I had not even began to think of trying to build my...
