Anybody bought a X10DR beam expander from LG?

I haven't purchased one yet, but would certainly like to. I can tell you that it does NOT make a 225mw laser into a 2250mw laser, it merely widens the beam so that divergence can be reduced. Combined with the ability to focus the enlarged beam to a point, this makes the effective range of the...

    Rechargeable "C" batteries

Actually I don't find this to be the case at all. The current regulators on the Orion and Aries series from Laserglow don't drop out of regulation until about 2.4 volts. I power my Aries 200 and and my Orion that's been bumped up to 500mw with the Energizer nimh rechargeables, and there is no...

    RPL Blue 30mW

Friendly reminder, Stevo1997: Most forum members are turned off by someone posting an item for sale and asking for "offers". If you want to sell the item, name a reasonable asking price and I'm sure you'll have far more interested parties. Obviously this goes for the Hercules 350 that you are...

Does anyone have the link to the schematic diagram for building the datalogging cable for the LPM-1? Thanks! -Robert

Here's one more interested party if you can get the 60mw 405nm diodes at a decent price... -Robert

    question about batteries

By the way, you'll love the Aries when you get it. The fit and finish of these units are fantastic! In fact, the only problem with the Aries 20 is that as soon as you get it you'll instantly want to buy a higher-powered version because you'll be so impressed with the lower-powered version! -Robert

    question about batteries

Note that if you want to use the energizer e2 lithiums in the Aries series as 360freak suggests, you'll have to get some AA to C converters. They're essentially just little plastic C-sized cylinders that you can insert an AA battery into to make it have the physicl dimensions of a C-cell. I...

    question about batteries

Laserglow recommends the use of regular alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries in the Aries series. NiMH batteries will work just fine and will not affect the life of the laser. -Robert

Check Out My Mod for the Laser Power Meter

Very cool mod jayrob! Mind if I steal your idea and mke a similar mod on my own LPM? Also, how are you making sure that the ND filter stays in place in the little plastic holder? I could just see it falling out on me...

Best Battery Type For A Green Laser

Just a quick correction... mAh is not milliamps per hour, it is a combined unit called a "milliamp hour" Current, which in this case is measured in milliamps, is not a discrete quantity, but rather a measure of the "rate" of delivery. To convert a rate to a discrete quantity we multiply it by...

I noticed Daedal hasn't posted since Dec. 24th, so I'm guessing he's probably been on holiday vacation... Hopefully we'll get more info soon now that the holidays are pretty much over.

    Current controlling benchtop power supply

Would a benchtop power supply with a current limiting control be a suitable method for powering a laser diode directly, or do you think that possible current and/or voltage spikes make this method too risky? Thanks, -Robert

    FOB China,USD355, Portable laser,532nm,200mW,

markt_S-KY, I would definitely be interested in getting in on this, but as SenKat said, we need a whole lot more information than what you've presented so far. It sounds very interesting, but I need to see some sort of proof that your product is what you say it is, otherwise I won't be...

    Pot Mod again

Actually, there's an even easier way. Wrap electrical tape around the silver tip, and keep wrapping it around until you've built up a wall of tape about 1/8 inch thick, which will probably take about 20 revolutions. Then simply grip the tip with a pliers with jaws widened, using about as much...
