How would I be able to tell, approximately, how powerful it is, without any test equipment? Hopefully, it will at least burn wood easily enough. Even though their ad has a money back guarantee, it would probably cost me a pretty penny to send it back! Ponz

Correct - the CR123a is a smaller battery. I ordered a few online. We'll see how they hold up and I'll post a review. Thanks, Ponz

I recently bought and received this: 500mW Laser Pointer - High Power Laser Pointer Kit Now, here's the question.......if I can have an extension tube fabricated to hold an additional battery, would I get more out of the pointer or would it damage it? I hope that's not a crazy question but...
