Using keychain red laser driver w/ these diodes ?

Re: Using keychain red laser driver w/ these diode Sorry for the pathetic post. Just out of the 100 or so cheap pointers I trashed, none had pots. As far as the IR laser I too have wondered about this as I now have several "chip" style ones and thought about making a laser assembly by stacking...

    Make your own laser goggles!!!

Someone send me a meter and I will be happy to test this stuff.  ;D LOL J/K But as far as that goes if someone wants to use this stuff fine, better than nothing. With my tests so far I have found a few that show nothing, no dot, nada. And here's the one below 0%transmission around 620-645nm...

Yep your good on heat sinking, and where did you find the Coleman? My Wal-Mart has a silver one that runs on 2 cr2 batteries and I am looking for that one.

    Finally done it (back again)

Ok so I have some Ideas time to post them: 1: A heat sink made from an old P1 heat sink by drilling a 1/2 inch hole centered on the mating surface w/fan 2:Thermal epoxy by mixing epoxy and Arctic Silver 5 (gotta test if it conducts electricity when cured) 3: Applying some sort of Heat sinking...

    Open Can DVD Diodes

No problem man, from the reading I have done at 420ma we are getting closer to 300mw of power. It does need good heat sinking at this level but with a 1 inch cube ALU heat sink I run mine for a few minutes with no problems (knock on wood). If I should not do this someone please stop me!

    Make your own laser goggles!!!

I have been thinking of gels for a while as I have one of those theater gel sample packs with 1000 or so samples in all different colors, with nifty little papers that show what wavelength they block. So I tried it with the lowest blocking filter (double blue I think .5% transparency, congo blue...

A question about this laser driver.

Yes the dummy is necessary, to tell the correct mA at the correct voltage of the laser. this thread explains more: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1197651171 If you don't use the load the mA will not show right, and the voltage is weird too.
