Good idea! Sorry about that :)

    Question on 405nm beam

Although I won't bother with the cheaper lasers, I think I'll try to find a lens cap for the three more expensive ones. Yes, $30 to me is expensive :)

    Question on 405nm beam

Well, I haven't checked any of my new lasers yet, so I might see a lot worse :) I only checked this one because the dot looked really weird with this laser. From about 10' it looks like it has a central focused dot, with two tiny dots on the right and left. I tried to take a pic, but wasn't...

    Question on 405nm beam

Haven't checked when rotating the adjuster, will do that tonight.

    Question on 405nm beam

Just got a few new lasers, I'm still waiting for my LPM materials to get here to get them measured, but when looking at the 75mW 405nm laser focus all the way out, I noticed some spots in the beam. Are these normal? I haven't checked my other lasers, but will.

    TEC number of junctions

Since number of junctions is important when selecting a TEC for an LPM project, I've been looking at quite a few online. One thing that I'm not finding easily is just how many junctions a particular TEC has. Can anyone shed any light on how to figure this out based on a website or a datasheet...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

I stand corrected! Thank you for the clarification. I'll learn these things eventually.

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

You are correct, density of the junctions is very important. However having a larger surface area does not equate to having a more dense number of junctions. An 8mm TEC with 49 junctions is more densely packed than a 14.8mm with 49 junctions. Unfortunately I haven't seen any TEC datasheets...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

My understanding after reading many lpm threads here is that any portion of a laser beam has the same power. So if you only get half the beam onto the TEC you will have the same power reading as if you got the other half. The power of the beam does not increase or decrease based on how much of...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

Ok. All parts have been ordered. Should be delivered in the next 2-3 weeks. I'm ready to go! Got duplicates of just about everything except the TEC. I ordered this TEC. I looked at the TEC you recommended MM, and though it was only $14.00, when I went to check out, they included a $71.10...

    Cheap Ebay handheld 532

I don't have an LPM, so no. I'm going to be building my own in the next month, and will test all of my lasers then.

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

thank you on the mod. You also need to add r6 to the pcb component section. It doesn't list the 10k ohm resistor

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

Question on the components. You list 3 10k pots, but there are only 2 shown in the circuit. R6 in the circuit shows as a regular 10k resistor.

    Diy lpm

Greetings everyone! I'm very interested in building an LPM. An inexpensive one. I don't need 1% accuracy, just something within say 10%. There are several good threads about the <$50 LPM builds, but they are rather necrotic, and I don't want to resurrect them as that's usually frowned upon...

Darn... Two weeks in and I have 7 lasers already with 3 more ordered! Obsessive much?? LOL Next is to build an LPM.
