    Nano SSTC!

Did you ever show your schem to Steve Ward or any of the other 4hv guys?

What do I do with this stuff?

Make some kick ass brake lights and door runners.

LPM In a Cube!! Bluetooth is Working!!

Re: LPM In a Cube!! Err... sorry. I was asking about the blu-tooth. Are you using an Application Specific Integrated Circuit? I can't figure that the ATMEL piece has a transceiver built in - does it?

PBS cube, or diode anomaly?? ML501P73

How sure are we that the output of all of these blue diodes is polarized? Sure, maybe some have been - but are just assuming they are?

    A desktop-size 10 TW laser

Well... it seems to be more of an amplifier for a laser, to achieve a more reliable femtosecond generation - one without the very complex Ti:S cavity. In fact, there would be no cavity at all. Ti:S systems are VERY expensive for the results and reliability you get in return. Think $150k+ for a...

LPM In a Cube!! Bluetooth is Working!!

Re: LPM In a Cube!! An LPM with freaking blu-tooth??? Everything is better with blu-tooth I guess. I can't wait to see your final setup. Are you using an ASIC?

    OEM Laser Systems is gone

That means FrothyChimp has been laid off. Damn. I wish he would come back.

[PICS] Driver with Modes: WITHOUT A Controller!

Hell. If you can use discreet FFs, counters, and DACs, you'll think micros are a godsend.

    LPM Design: A Beginner's Guide

There are ICs and very good instrumentation amp typologies that are good for reading individual thermocouples. AD595 for example. They cut out the noise greatly via a very CMRR and provide a cold junction compensation- and some can linearize the curve. Do you think any of those are real...

    CNI Spectrometers

I think the one I used is capable of .01 nm resolution on the high count grating. I'll have to ask around to see if someone else is currently using it or not. I'm taking a break from research. ;)

[PICS] Driver with Modes: WITHOUT A Controller!

Hmm.... this is very clever indeed. So the idea is achieve more discreet steps in current adjustment? Then scaling up to whatever current you need could be done in 7 steps. Neat! You don't suppose you could use 2-3 flip flops to represent each of your states? Depending on how you want it, it...

    CNI Spectrometers

^^This. A good spectrometer with any of the "must have" features built-in can't be made for much less.

Is there over-current protection built into the driver to protect the IGBTs?

Strange Artifacts of new LPM's output...

TEC? I though this was for Ophir thermopiles. I didn't see your conclusion to the ringing posted anywhere. I just saw your posted experimental graphs. So there IS a differentiator built into the amp?

They should have mounted the FETs on the edge of the board to allow for custom heatsinking.

Strange Artifacts of new LPM's output...

I was thinking about current overshoot as well - but this test would surely rule it out if any could so quickly. Both the overshoot and ringing seems to take about 2-3 full seconds to quiet down - that's a long time. I have to go back and look at any thermal mechanisms that could account for...

So is your new name related to your affinity for skiing?

Strange Artifacts of new LPM's output...

Any updates on the lab laser run? A purely electrical "on" function to the driver might remove this spike - is that the current hypothesis?

    Low Level Laser Therapy inquiry

You realize this stuff is meant for skin health, right? An osteoarthritic ankle would require increased calcium intake and pain management. Not skin "rejuvenation".
