First build! + colour changing diode??

It sounds like one half of the AC wave is shorting to your iron's chassis. Get rid of that iron!

First build! + colour changing diode??

How much current was fed to that PL520 that killed it? Pretty much the first time I've heard of one of those actually dying.

Ran across this publication from Sharp..

It's a product introduction for laser diodes and would be really useful for the beginner and well-versed alike to visually understand a variety of aspects about lasers in general, laser diode assembly/manufacture process and a bunch of other crap as well. For some reason, the little dudes...

Beautiful blue Lifetime17 host for PLTB450b

The wings are always there with 3 element lenses.. I haven't tried removing the spacer but it may help. If you're interested in low divergence with a pristine beam you should check out a G7 lens. It will produce a clean output with nearly the exact same divergence as when using a 3 element...

some pics blue laser mini size 14500

Osram pl 450 or pl t450b? Very nice host and build. p.s. I would beware of Photobucket.

Who needs Tetris Effect when we've got this? (aka Tetris with lasers)

    Sharp 405nm 1.3w

Juicy :-) That's very attractive output for that wavelength, certainly the brightest looking 405 I've seen in pictures.

    -17F

Be that as it may, I disagree with the notion that any money and value associated with global warming existing would be an endeavor that is worth falsely purporting. There is far, far more corporate money in the near term available for much less effort for those in the oil business than those...

My new build with small brass host

Same series, same year, same build quality, same awesome, yours just slightly smaller ;-)

My new build with small brass host

Is that a Dell M6800 laptop you've got that new laser sitting on? Sweet (big) little laptop, I have the same one :) One time I had it on a table with a monitor plugged in via the VGA port on the back.. I accidentally knocked it off the table and it landed on it's back facing straight up (with...

This sounds amazing. Wish I could see something like that..

465nm closed can 2.6w rated diode

Yeah after looking at it again I'm not confident that it's actually a factory can.. thought it was while it was being sold by techhood but now that he's no longer offering it and I've seen it pop up in shady seller land, combined with never having any model ID, I'm not so sure about it.

465nm closed can 2.6w rated diode

I've seen this diode before but disregarded it due to price (was $200+). This is not the N465, of which turns out the N465 is a NUBM07 that has an aftermarket can installed under unknown gas fill conditions. Given the NUBM07 is also rated at 2.6W at rated current, this diode at $150 (same...

    Battery powered labby project

Hi there, great build! Those look like OPT C-lenses and mounts.. those mounts sure take the agony of aligning those lenses, don't they? Sure wish I ordered mine with the mount! Great lenses. I'm curious why you used two pair of C-lenses if you also used a wave rotator? Couldn't you have...

    Manufacturer statement regarding decanned diodes

The similar reliability of as-manufactured open can diodes to closed can diodes suggests that it may have nothing necessarily to do with dust particles and everything to do with some other component of air degrading these device which doesn't have the same degredation on red diodes... either...

    New SHARP 450nm 1650mw

Can you elaborate on that for me? After looking at the PLT450B raw divergence and comparing it to the 490nm diode divergence it seems that what you are saying must be true, though I have also noticed that diodes with horrible raw divergence figures (e.g. Mits P73) seem to have horrible...

    Manufacturer statement regarding decanned diodes

When I was reading the datasheet for the Sharp GH04850B2G I came across this declaration in the notes at the bottom of the document- At this point it was pretty much accepted that decanning InAlGan diodes resulted in a quick death but this is the first confirmation that I have seen from a...

    New SHARP 450nm 1650mw

It is.. if the datasheet is correct for the new diode, it has lower divergence than the 490nm GH04850B2G which itself has excellent beam characteristics. For outputting 1.6W at that low divergence is seriously impressive. GH04850B2G datasheet divergence- GH04C01A2G datasheet divergence-...
