PayPal TOOK all my money (Account Limitations)

Those bastards did the same to me when flebay screwed up something I shipped using the international shipping program. (never use that program! they repackage your goods and ship in bulk to save money.) The buyer made a claim as the vintage speakers he bought were completely f**ked when they...

    WTB 6x cylindrical lens set

Yes. Cylinder lenses only act on one axis. 2X, 3X, etc is just the ratio of the focal length of the lenses used. It is also the magnification of the system when using only 2 lenses. It is also possible to use 2 positive lenses, plano convex for example. The drawbacks of 2 positive lenses...

    WTB 6x cylindrical lens set

Sorry for got to add "cylindrical" before beam expander. I edited the post.

    WTB 6x cylindrical lens set

I know this is a 6x specific thread but I think it worth mentioning.. An adjustable cylindrical beam expander can be made of 2X concave and 1 convex lens. like this... C-C==D===> The greater the distance between the "C's" gives higher power. The the distance between C and D needs to be...

    New 520nm diode on DTR's site (1W) NUGM01T

.25 to .5mm is way too far off to get an idea of the focus. That is the same as turning a G2 lens in a standard M9 .5 holder 1/2 - 1 full turn away from focus. You could also use trig. Just think of the beam as a triangle.

    New 520nm diode on DTR's site (1W) NUGM01T

Here is good div calculator: pseudonomen137's JScript mRad Calculator You could try to put the stock lens back on to test power throughput. I am also curious as to how the stock focus is. Too late for that test:)

    New 520nm diode on DTR's site (1W) NUGM01T

Did you happen to take any measurements before removing the Gball lens?

    New 520nm diode on DTR's site (1W) NUGM01T

Nice work! For divergence measurments, I would try to get at least 5m away, if not 10m. Also, for it to mean anything it has to be measured with a known lens. For a good comparison you could look at the far field spot next to a a m140 (both having the same lens installed). The M140 has...

    The Cyan Cannon Vll Build

Don't you know? It's hip to be squared.

    The Cyan Cannon Vll Build

Re: The Cyan Cannon II Build I can neither confirm nor deny these allegations:) Fire it up! You can always turn the blue down. Plus if you have 4W blue its ready for when the 2W green diodes hit.

    The Cyan Cannon Vll Build

Re: The Cyan Cannon II Build I did a similar set-up for a projector except I used 2X1W 520 and 2X M462. Worked really well. The differing distance from diodes to the first c lens didn't seem to hurt things too much. The 520 and the M462 have roughly the same emitter size. I think the NUBM07E...

    9mm 500mW 520nm Info?

Anyone seen one of the 500mW greens in action? I am curious if the emitter/ beam properties are the same as the NDG700 and NDG7475. When the 1W 445 diodes came out a less popular 500mW version was out as well. The 500mW 445 had half the emitter dimension as the 1W. Just wondering if the...

    Red laser driver PWM

Sorry, missed the part about the battery Voltage in the OP. 317 cant be used. The 317 can be modulated with a transistor on the adj pin. As Benm said the power dissipation would be too high for battery operation anyway. I have to get my mind out of projector mode here at LPF. Switching...

    Red laser driver PWM

IIRC you can add an enable to a LM317 by using a small transistor to short the adj pin to gnd.

    NUBM07E 465nm 2.9W Diode Test (Hitting 470nm+)

Here are some crappy cell pics. Sorry this is the best my phone could do. The spot shot is at 43feet.

    NUBM07E 465nm 2.9W Diode Test (Hitting 470nm+)

These diodes are the sh!t! I had a chance to do a quick test. With the stock "Gball" lens and a set of 6X cylinders I am getting ~4X5mm after the cylinders and about .65mRad in the slow axis. The focus of the "Gball" lens is really pretty good and can be cleaned up with the cylinder expander...

    NUBM07E 465nm 2.9W Diode Test (Hitting 470nm+)

This is what it was called on the china sellers page. It makes it easy to reference what lens we are talking about. I know its not a ball lens hence the reason for putting quotes around it. Who decides what designation the lens gets? How about "Gball" or the "G formerly know as ball":eg...

Knife edge followed by expander? Anyone try that here?

It allows you to knife and stack 4 beams like this- || || The height spacing is critical and depends on the diode and lens used.

Knife edge followed by expander? Anyone try that here?

I have seen some combiners where the fibers are just epoxied in a ferrule and polished. This would give an image of a bunch of dots in the far field.

Knife edge followed by expander? Anyone try that here?

Ok. I guess I misunderstood. At the end of the day accomplishes the same thing. Your way needs longer spherical expander mine needs longer cylindrical correction. By longer I mean takes up more space. I still believe the best way is to use a different power negative cylinder lens for each...
