    Image generated by quantum entanglement

There are measurement limitations to work out of course. For example, to time needed to determine if an even has happened, and so forth. There is also the issue of scale. For example, of we use something larger, say an atom, in NJ, and make the protons the size of a basketball.......the...

Space travel and humans. (Alaskan post please)

Slowly but surely, the earth is becoming more and more civilized. Its no where near perfect, but, on average, you'd rather be born when you were, than 5,000 years ago. And you'd have rather been born 5,000 years ago than 100,000 years ago...and so forth. Life went from extremely harsh, where...

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

I disagree. You are confusing several topics and orders of magnitude. Remember that a sniper's bullet is only airborne for a short period of time, and is released with the same angular momentum as the surroundings, etc. IE: Its not a significant effect considering the wind and elevation, etc...

Your thoughts on the iPad Pro

For me, a lot DOES come down to what pockets I have on a particular day. I have both apple, android and windows stuff, and use all 3 for work...and have for a long time. I used to see people with giant phones, and think that's ridiculous...until I found myself checking mail on the phone more...

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

He quotes a book written in the1800's, everything in it was debunked THEN... The people who did the experiments, bet against those who said they were wrong, lost the bet, and then sued because the other people knew they were wrong and took advantage of them. IE: Betting with someone as to the...

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

Your evidence is is books, such as the ludicrous zetetic astronomy, vs the combined knowledge of the entire world? You didn't know he wrote that because he was defending the church's position on the subject? You didn't know the Pope, etc, recanted and admitted the earth was round? IE: No need...

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

You missed the point. There were two potential outcomes: 1) You conclude the earth is flat. 2) You conclude the earth has curvature. If you get conclusion #1, it means you did it wrong, because the earth is round, and this has been known by humans for most of recorded history. If you get...

A more in depth laser strike story tonight on NBCNEWS

The problem is, essentially, that you can't outlaw being a kid...and for some people, that goes up to their 30's. I remember being a kid, and so forth, and, well, kids have no sense of consequences...and even when a kid is older, its underdeveloped. My brother and a friend of his took sling...

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

Wait, what? This isn't an academic exercise, you actually think the earth is flat?:crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup: Humans have KNOWN the earth was round for many many centuries. The Phoenicians and Greeks for example knew it was round...they measured it...

    That's a great idea! :gj::gj:

Keeping a small dot over one mile distance

:crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup: Just a little divergence would "prove its flat" though. :D Seriously, a rifle scope and target boat is all you'd need. Aim the waterline mounted scope at the stern's water line bullseye, fix it in place, and move the boat progressively further...

    So sick of the government

The US will never tax or inhibit the free flow of hot foul air escaping from orifices unless they find an exception for those in government. ------------ Lobsters are clueless after the lid goes on too. ------------ The US subsidizes the tobacco industry. They get the money back in taxes...

    Mosquitoes

I have a 3 watt 445 that can be focused so as to fry them about instantly. I don't use it indoors, (anymore...) as there are too many other things that it seems to also fry, such as the paint on the walls and ceiling...and with the safety glasses on, its too hard to tell how much was too much...

EM drive which could allow us to reach marks in 70 days.

Absolutely, the ion drive is a lot stronger than a photon drive, but this new technology is a LOT stronger than the ion drive. Its akin to really tall gearing on your 10 speed bike....hell to get going, but you can go really fast when its up to speed. If scaled up, this could do what the ion...

EM drive which could allow us to reach marks in 70 days.

I think the point of the interplanetary version of the EM drive is that it WON'T require a lot of electricity to run.......in its final form. This sort of science fiction-ish level technology, such as the ion drive that WAS used to go out past Pluto, etc, that starts off as impossible, ends up...

    Have a fun Halloween LPF!

I spent Halloween at a friend's house after his cancer/stroke recovery treatments...he looked kind of scary. He was too weak to go to the door when kids came trick or treating, but didn't want to disappoint them...so I went to the door for him and he'd pretend they scared him and wave from his...

    Register your drone

Most people get the car based on image. If they feel that they are practical, etc, they get a volvo/corolla or whatever that fits the self image. If they feel they are sportier, they get a sportier car, or a more luxurious car, etc. So, most jeeps don't go off road, most vettes don't ever see...

Found a site is it a legit site or not?

Sometimes, you do have to think about why one might be cheaper...what corners were cut? And, you can't JUST look at price, as companies sometimes sell the exact same laser at different price points, BECAUSE some people assume the more expensive one is better. So, a cheap laser can be over...

Seek Thermal Camera vs Energy Audit

Most of the equipment will work fine, you would just need to learn how to interpret the images to come to the correct conclusions. I would start out cheap and easy to use, and see how it works for you. For an energy audit, you don't NEED amazing resolution....you're mostly screening for places...

Newbie needs advice from the pros

What are you going to be cutting/etching? You can actually buy OD rated panels, with specs similar to the safety goggle specs. That way, you can build a containment similar to the Plexiglas version you had in mind, but with those instead. Laser Acrylic Sheeting For example
