How does one slow down the travel path of light?

Where is the light behaving slowly? If you're talking about when he shines the green laser through the clear tubes, I believe the visual effect is merely the laser taking a few seconds to reach its full power, not the actual light taking its time to make it across

Looking for pictures/firsthand experiences with 420nm

Hmm, looks like they have a single mode 50mw 420nm diode in stock right now with a price tag of $500 if I'm seeing this right https://www.rpmclasers.com/product/tg420-420nm-blue-laser-diode/ That's exactly what I would have hoped, I've always liked that color. I wonder what kind of tunable...

    100mW 457nm DPSS Laser

If all else fails you could try DaVinci Resolve, it's a free editing software known for its dedicated color correction module (relatively easy to pick up with some quick youtube tutorials)

Looking for pictures/firsthand experiences with 420nm

I know that a few 420nm diodes exist. Has anyone here purchased or seen one that would like to share some pictures or account of what it looks like? I'm mostly just curious. The closest I found is this 430nm. Other than that I couldn't find much in the way of 420nm while digging through the forum.

    WTB 473nm handheld laser

Allow me to share an exchange I had with Laserglow back in December (ignore if you've already looked into this/not interested): Me: "Is it still possible to purchase a 473nm <5mw Aquarius? I see they're backordered and the price has gone up but are they still in production at all or completely...

    100mW 457nm DPSS Laser

That pure royal blue in DPSS looks nice. What video color correction software did you try so far?

    Unable To Print PDF File.

Are you sure you’re not looking for Laser Printer Forums? but erm, how do you know it has something to do with the printer hardware and not the document permissions or your connection to said printer? Try printing a webpage or something you definitely have access to to troubleshoot

    Finally... I own a 2W 577nm!

Would love to see it side by side with some other yellow / orange / red wavelengths. Fire rainbow muahaha

    Popping 100 blue balloons video?

    Finally... I own a 2W 577nm!

It's funny to think people who saw that probably don't even know what they saw or how rare a sight it is

Will there ever be a brown laser ?

White balance on cameras exists for a similar reason. "White" objects can totally change their look based on the temperature of the ambient light around them. Daylight makes white things appear bluer while indoor tungsten lights make them orange. If you ever take a photo with two different...

Messing with my RGBY Handheld Laser "Drawing" Setup

Ah neat! My camera setup was a Sony A7III mirrorless body with a 55mm F1.8 Sony lens on a fairly priced yet sturdy tripod I found on Amazon. For the settings it varied a little but I was shooting around 20 second exposures at F3.2 and 100 ISO. Besides lasers, photography is another major time...

Messing with my RGBY Handheld Laser "Drawing" Setup

Want to take multiple frames and animate them as seen here as well. As @CurtisOliver pointed out in that thread, members like Radim, ArcticDude, and Brucemir are vets at this kind of thing so I owe them to some extent for the inspiration!

Messing with my RGBY Handheld Laser "Drawing" Setup

Now that I'm done with classes for the semester I finally had time to take some long exposure tripod shots with my lasers. I acquired this custom foam case specifically for this purpose and made space for my four lasers that made the most sense: 485, 520, 589, and 635nm — all close to 50mw. At...

bought a blue 445nm sanwu, are these sufficient goggles?

For the best value for price and protection from 3W of 445 I would go for the "OD 7+ at 190-532 nm." OD 7+ is more than enough but you can't have too much protection. Each OD represents a magnitude of power that the light is being reduced (so OD3 would divide the intensity of the light by...

bought a blue 445nm sanwu, are these sufficient goggles?

Welcome, What power rating is the laser? This will determine what OD is appropriate. For a class IV laser at least OD6 is recommended. It's hard to tell if the goggles are good without knowing the manufacturer or if they have an OSHA/CE certificate, but judging by the name and the implied...

    Hypothesis: Wavelength limit perception correlation

I have not participated yet because I don't have a near-UV or near-IR light source close enough to check. However, I wanted to share 2 articles about something called "two-photon chromophore isomerization" or "two-photon absorption": https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1410162111...

Will there ever be a brown laser ?

I just sensed trolling at first but I like that we could turn this thread educational somehow

Will there ever be a brown laser ?

do you mean orange? or maybe the properties of light are different under bridges
