    Where can I find..

^^ this is the cheapest way I know to get the housing at the moment. However I don't think there are any of the 'non-functional' ones listed. Just working ones.

Using factory 12x sleds for beam combining?

They are, but crack open a 512L sled and try to make use of that tiny one. heh. I'm not saying it can't be used. Only that I don't think it'd be worth it. You'd get less losses using the dicros in the sled to combine.. Or just buying a larger, broadband AR coated PBS.

    Ultimate dubstep laser show (hercules-500)

Well the way I see it, you and WL are both sinking to the same level of deception. :p You kind of tarnish yourself by even attempting to play the same game as WL.

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Those are from the same source as rhd and aryntha got theirs from KGB. And laser66 is just measuring and binning them himself and marking up the high wavelength ones. They aren't binned from the source. You get whatever they have to send. The only guarantee is 'between 505nm and 520nm' There...

    Ultimate dubstep laser show (hercules-500)

I'm not sure why you keep going on about 'worlds most powerful handheld' either. I probably have half a dozen handhelds that are more than 650mW. In your choice of wavelengths, even.

    Green 507 512 532 beams' comparison

Yes, i'm more than aware how much these shift with current. It's actually temperature related more than current though, going by the datasheet information i've seen. But higher current means higher temps.. Mine will probably get set to whatever current yields ~50mW or so. Other option would...

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

All diode manufacturers 'hold out'. Few can legally just say 'no, you can't have one'.. again for legal reasons. And I imagine the manufacturer of these is no different. If you called them directly and asked for one, i'm sure they'd happily say "Sure!" then give you a 4 to 5 figure price tag on...

    Glow Crazy

Well i'm certain my 'guess' is correct. There is zero reason for them to use 450nm diodes. They cost more, and cause a lot less reactance in UV materials than cheaper 405nm diodes would.

    Green 507 512 532 beams' comparison

I don't have to assume anymore. I'm fairly sure all these are from the same source as the ones rhd and aryntha got now.. As are the ones laser66 on PL is advertising. Those diodes will range anywhere from 505nm to 520nm since they aren't binned. Which I think laser66 on pl is going to run into...

Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

Laser eye surgery is used to reshape the cornea.. I imagine in this case, he had a needle jammed in his eye to suck out the blood covering the retina.

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Well I have an interest in display too, but these particular diodes aren't really suited to that. The only thing they have going for them is it's a rare wavelength.

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

This is easy to answer. Companies that manufacture laser diodes do NOT want anything to do with this community. 'Laser pointers' are two words they DON'T want to hear. Our 'community' is in NO way large enough to compensate for the liability risks incurred by sale of high powered diodes destined...

Using factory 12x sleds for beam combining?

The thing is those PBS cubes are tiny.. like 2mmx2mmx2mm. You'd have considerable losses since most collimated diode outputs are larger than that. Plus they're only coated for 405, so you'd have more losses using it with a red. The dichros in the sled would be a better option.

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Which is why rhd, aryntha, and myself have all warned everyone. Actually none of us can stop anyone from continuing to try and locate the source, but it will only take them receiving ONE email from someone being less than courteous and professional, and trying to lowball to 'get a diode for...

    Lazerer's latest lasers

It doesn't need to be restricted though like the vet's section. Since it's possible for people who are only interested in popping balloons, etc, to get more of an interest in lasers beyond that, and that should be encouraged. But it should be made clear that it's NOT the place to discuss...

    Lazerer's latest lasers

Well maybe we're going about this all wrong. Maybe instead of filing all the 'junk' off by itself, we should get our own sub-forum for the discussion of interesting laser related things other than the 'latest out of china' or 'my new 10W retinadestroyer mk2 pointer' Seems like this approach...

    Lazerer's latest lasers

Would be nice to be able to filter by 'concept'. I'd make sure I didn't have to dig through stuff about 'burning', 'MOAR POWER'(concerning pointers) or 'generic chinese lasers' ever again. heh. :p

There is Something "Wrong" With My Beam/Spot

Hmm. Probably are talking about different things then. I've never seen a square that 'comes and goes' before, beyond going in and out of focus anyway. Though I honestly don't do a lot of refocusing of mine since I don't 'burn' etc. Mine pretty much get set to infinity and left there. I also have...

    Lazerer's latest lasers

one of the difficulties of segregation is getting people to actually use the new forums without the mods having to constantly be moving content to where it should be. Most people 'want to be seen'.. and if they make a thread in the new section and nobody looks or comments, they'll just try...

There is Something "Wrong" With My Beam/Spot

You don't need to worry about that.. Why you make ask? It's because the same amount of light is getting reflected back to the diode regardless of where the focus position is. What's going on here with the square being visible, is that the light reflecting off the lens back to the diode, is...
