Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Holy Vf batman! Even though i've been in the loop on the 510's for a while, Aryntha never mentioned the 8V Vf to me heh. I'm going to have to seriously rethink my host choice for mine.. which sucks. I was expecting the Vf to run somewhere between the 445's and 405's. Bleah.

    Want New Laser

Waving high power lasers around in the air is a very BAD idea on multiple levels.

    UK Police using lasers

Upon digging more, I have to side with the law enforcement. These protesters were told to disperse multiple times off private property and refused(and yes, colleges and universities.. and pretty much all schools period in the US are considered controlled private property) And they were also...

    power - 3.0v - 3.7v OR 3.7v - 4.2v / battery

The modules are fairly 'standard' being 11.9 or 12mm. They're used in far more than pen hosts. You can use them in other hosts it just usually takes some modification. (bypassing the switch so it's always on, for use in a host with an end clicky is a good example) Here are two 'non normal pen...

    UK Police using lasers

Without knowing the specifics i'll refrain from judgement. After all, the pic and the short video tells absolutely nothing about the situation beyond some people got pepper sprayed then arrested. You don't know anything of events leading up to what's shown after all. Generally video clips...

    UK Police using lasers

This isn't a maser (just being focused doesn't make it a *aser.. amplification by stimulated emission does), and it doesn't really 'fry' people either. The heat generated is dissipated fast enough that it will never get to the levels of 'burning' people physically regardless of the length of...

Christmas lights (re: lasers!) this year.....

I actually think it's another pdf on the cd heh. but i'll have to look again.

    UK Police using lasers

Er, aircraft exceeding the sound barrier (and creating sonic booms) don't 'create' flashes of light. Only loud noises. Maybe your confusing it with some of the early nuclear testing? Those certainly DID create bright flashes of light. Though the visible spectrum photons were really the least...

Why did you bought a laser'?

This is 'teh internetz'.. If you start getting bent out of shape and try to correct bad grammar and spelling.. Well.. good luck with that.. I only bring it up these days when someone is being a nuisance.

Best way to combine Beams for Power?

I read the same thing too.. And throw in some cabbage for extra room-clearing effect. :p

Christmas lights (re: lasers!) this year.....

You'll find the LSX manual in the CD you got when you bought it. At least that's where mine was. and I could have sworn there was a basic tutorial somewhere too that will get you up and running at least with the basics.

Why did you bought a laser'?

I got my first laser (a ~1mW HeNe with a kit power supply) in the early 90's. And as far as how much i've spent on them over the years.. More than I probably should have heh, but less than Aryntha. :D

please some really small answears are all i seek for

He stated AA's though and not NiMH's, So using AA's was what my advice was based off of. It will run fine with 6, but it will run cooler with 4. I think if he wants to go the rechargable route, 2x li-ion's would be an easier route than NiMH.

$700 new Casio xj-A140 projectors...is this a valid company selling or a scam?

Judging by their... varied... product list.. They're obviously a dropshipper, however like you, there is very little information about them and the not taking credit cards or paypal is definitely a turnoff.

    My homemade Audi Nikes

Looks like someone just discovered flex LED strips heh.

please some really small answears are all i seek for

^ What he said. Though you shouldn't need more than 4 AA's. 6V input should be more than enough. Increasing the voltage beyond that gives no benefit other than making the driver run hotter.

    Glow Crazy

Yes. I think they forgot that 6x6 is 1/4 the area of 12x12, not half. heh. But this is still the only example I can think of something getting more expensive the more you order.. typically it's reversed. However in their defense.. They don't say how wide a 50m roll is. If it's 36" wide, it...

    Lasers and temperature

No long term effects. But most non-TEC'd DPSS lasers are aligned at room temperature and up.. When they get cold, as stated, output is typically lower, if they lase at all.

Review of the 50mW 405nm Handheld Ultra Powerful Violet Laser Pen 1010

Nice review, though if you want an uber cheap ~50mW 405, then go with these (even though I personally hate newwish pens) 5mw Blue Purple Laser Pointer For Gift Teach Job Busi. | eBay The current versions i've been getting (and gutting) have been running between 60-75mW and they'll happily run...

    power - 3.0v - 3.7v OR 3.7v - 4.2v / battery

Neither module is 'better' than the other. They're just designed to be used with different power sources. The 3v driver is designed to be used with 2x 1.5v batteries (AA, AAA, etc) while the 3.7v driver is designed to be used with a single li-ion battery. If you try to run a 3v driver off a...
