Laser Scanner for 3d Printer Application

Hi, My 2p worth. Using a laser with focusing optics in order to provide a small spot size, you will need to compensate the focus from the centre of the scan field to the outside (as the distance increases / changes) to ensure the spot size remains constant. You can do this by a secondary lens...

    buying a laserpointer website

I think the best way to start is from scratch - you will have absolute control and limits the chance of you being ripped off. a) Find a supplier/s of quality lasers that will be legal to sell in your country. Do this by searching the net - start small - if you start placing large orders, think...

    RGB hand-held laser

Hi cairan, Grainde is correct, just the red green and blue laser modules cost nearly $300, then there is the dichroics, mirrors, mirror mounts, PCB's, electronics, lcd, all the machined components etc. etc. I'll have to add up the invoices one day when "the wife" is not looking ;) ATB MM

    RGB hand-held laser

Hi LaseCo, I never expected it to be simple, quite the opposite, but that makes it much more fun. What's the point in doing "simple", the satisfaction is much higher when you do the difficult :D Parts came back yesterday from anodising - look great. I'll post some pics later and then start...

Wtf is up with this Energizer battery charger?

Fiddy's spot on. Also, alot of these chargers pulse the current, sometimes 2x the rated charge current at ~50% duty, so measuring the just voltage can be very misleading.

    RGB hand-held laser

1st try at taming the red didn't work - different optics to order ! The MPG has done some more programming though, so at least some progress. Hope to get the anodising before Christmas, photos when done. ATB MM

    What won't a 2W 445 wont burn?

Small brick or a piece of paving slab- these have much less chance of giving off a "beam" reflection and will handle a lot of power.
