    My first 561nm pointer

These are of the beam terminus spot and the three diffractive "star caps" that are furnished with the laser. All photographs were taken ~2 feet (0.6096M) from a white door.

    My first 561nm pointer

Now that's a stellar idea, thanks!!! (y) Now, where to find a twist-tie.

    My first 561nm pointer

I'm presently attempting to photograph the laser & its beam, but I'm meeting with very little success because I no longer own or have access to a camera. The camera inbuilt into my cellular telephone handset does not have a self-timer which would be necessary here. :(

The color is simply amazing!!! o_O

    My first 561nm pointer

It's supposed to be here today, so I'll know soon enough. (y) (Edit 12:31pm PDT) Tracking indicates that it has been delivered; however my sister has not yet gone to check the mail.

405nm violet as use for a camping water disinfectant

Funny; I've always thought that 405nm was WAY too long in wavelength to inactivate most pathogens.

    My first 561nm pointer

Done, thank you!!! I used the, "Start Conversation" link found by hovering over your avatar. Hover over mine to get the link.

    My first 561nm pointer

I'm aware of the diffraction grating trick, but I don't own or have access to one of those things. :( When I said I lost everything after my stroke, I really did mean EVERYTHING.

    It's me again. :-)

I figured that out late last night thanks to Google, but thank you very much in any case. :D

The Arctic hitting the roof of an unoccupied structure at ~130 feet. Albedo is approx. 5 to 7. Photograph taken at 8:58am PST on 11-27-10 (or "27 Nov 2010" if you prefer).

Ok I must have missed something. What is SELEM anyway?

Hey Len, Just for curiosity sakes, have you sent the LPM yet? :D

    Yummy, I know. ;)

    My first 561nm pointer

I have a 30mW to 40mW 561nm pen-style laser on the way. Uses either 2x AAA cells or one 10440 Li:Ion cell plus a dummy battery. Unfortunately, I no longer own or have access to a spectrometer or even a spectroscope, so the best I'll be able to do is "eyeball" the wavelength. ETA is...

I just snagged a 561nm yellow-green laser -- I've never seen that wavelength before!!! ETA is ~08-03-23.

    It's me again. :-)

While I appreciate your diligence, I've had my address publically posted since 1999 and have yet to encounter any negative issues. (y)
