    Traveling on an airplane

I've done this before on several occasions. Just make sure you remove the batteries, and leave them in your carry-on during the entire flight. I think it's safer to keep them in your carry-on, just in case something happens to your luggage bag. I have one 140mW green and another 125mW green...

    daguin's Penultimate Sale **CLOSED**

Re: daguin's Penultimate Sale I just recieved my 190mW 6x laser yesterday. I's only a little brighter than my 110mW PHR, but it burns things much faster than the PHR. It burns holes in white paper from across the room when focused. I'm really impressed with the build quality and the small size...

    Dead Blue Ray Diode?

Thanks. Hopefully my next diode will survive the soldering process.

    Dead Blue Ray Diode?

Where do I buy clamps like the one in your post? Do local hardware stores carry them and are they expensive?

    Dead Blue Ray Diode?

Hey, I was trying out my first build and I think I killed my diode. It was actually lasing initially, but then I desoldered it because the driver wasn't aligned straight so the back of the aixiz module wouldn't screw in. After I realigned it, it stopped working. How sensitive is the diode to...

First DIY blue ray Advice Needed.

That would be great if you could make a custom heatsink. Do you have the dimensions of the black c3? Or would I have to measure them? How much would this cost?

How to protect LD (first build)

Hey, I was wondering if there were any precautions I need to take to protect the laser diode from ESD and heat during installation. Do I simply use the back of the aixiz module to press the diode into the top? And is 139mA too much current for the P803T diode if I have a heatsink? I've read that...

First DIY blue ray Advice Needed.

The darkhorse heatsink I ordered was designed for the Cree C3 flashlight. From Item Description: Introducing The "Sliver" Full Body Heatsink. Based on the successfull "Full-Body" design used in the Dorcys, these are down-sized for a Cree C3 (solid stainless-steel 1xAA-sized host) This new...

First DIY blue ray Advice Needed.

Hey, I was considering my first blue ray build, and I have an idea of the parts I want to use. I just wanted to see if the parts list that I have will work. Driver: rckstr or dLava 130mA fixed current Diode: 405nm PHR-803T Blu Ray Laser Diode from hightechdealz Host: UltraFire Cree C3...

    Good WL products?

I've purchased a few wicked lasers products, and my main complaint with them is that they're overpriced. If you want a 125mw laser that will light matches it costs $550 usd. Compared to the $350 nova x-125, wicked lasers needs to rethink their prices. In addition, they don't offer power graphs...

    My experience with TechLasers:

I've ordered an infiniti 125 from techlasers, and although I recieved a good, working unit with no mode issues, I don't like how they never replied to any of my emails. They sent me the wrong tracking info, shipped the package out 5 days after I ordered it, and never responded when I asked them...

Wicked Lasers did not rip me off

I know for sure that if you're looking to burn, then don't get the executive fusions. I have one that's been tested several times at 140mw, and it can't light matches from any distance. I went through 1 other executive fusion, and it consistently fluctuated between 124 and 130mw in output power...

    restoring Wicked Lasers' Executive cases?

I got tired of the scratches on my executive fusion, so I reinstalled the laser in my silver leadlight case

    Infiniti 125 arrived.

Well, I just tested my infiniti 125 laser today, and output power fluctuates anywhere between 115mw to 130mw. It hit 130 for a couple seconds on the meter after 30sec of warmup and tended to fluctuate between 120mw and 130mw when warm. I don't know if that means 125mw average, but my fusion is...

    last min advice?

Don't use anything higher than 30mw for star parties or astronomy. Otherwise, people might complain since you might mess us their night vision.

    last min advice?

The beam will be very visible, but don't expect it to burn very much, since it's between 45 and 65mw. It should pop balloons, though. ;D

    Infiniti 125 arrived.

I think their lasers are decent. However their service needs work. That's why I'd recommend NOVA over techlasers. With the LPF discount, their prices are similar as well.

    x-series opperating temp question.

Yep, all green lasers (especially portables) do that to one degree or another. Some do it more than others. But this is normal. My 140mw fusion drops below 50mw after 2min if I leave it on because the laser gets too hot. If I let it cool to room temp again I get 130-140mw of power again.
