    pocket cannon

Yes, one of my camping mates knows a pyro and sometimes brings stuff along. Bangers the size of D cell batteries that do as much damage as a 16 stick sparkler bomb, rockets the diameter of 50 mil pipe, and morters the size of soft and basket balls. Tonnes of fun. We just pray its been raining...

    pocket cannon

Might work actually. Also youtube "Sparkler bomb". Sparklers are heaps more fun than they appear to be on the packet ;) I made one with 16 sparklers and let it off at campsite. The explosion was deafening, and the unwanted arachnid in the hollow log was vapourized. We were a tad concerned...

    pocket cannon

it would probably be prohibited - besides, if that was the case, just ship him a few meters of visco - it would last forever with the little cannon :) Garden supply stores will have the KNO3. They'll take your details if you buy a reasonable quantity, but thats no issue if your using it for a...

    pocket cannon

bugger it - make the cannon a bit more powerful. Feed the wires of a no.8 blasting cap down the muzzle and out the breech. Will be much more impressive (provided the cannon doesnt blow up!) :)

    pocket cannon

Matches contain oxidizer already, otherwise they would not strike. Its got me perplexed as to why it goes out at the entry to the breech. Match heads are basically potassium perchlorate, sulphur and a binder, which also seals the mix from air. When exposed, the perchlorate reacts with the...

    Who here's from Australia?

Nix, I hate to tell you, but if its got flashy lights, is in the sky, and is accompanied by a whoop whoop or roaring sound, its a plane or helicopter. If its doesnt seem like one still treat it like one and dont point a laser at it. Besides, if it was a ufo you'd be dead by now. If the aliens...

    I just don't get it....

LOL that argon really is in terrible shape. Free mice, cockroaches and garter snake with every order. Remove your free pets before firing up :P I have also seen that one before.

    Who here's from Australia?

Dont attract attention to yourself. Wait until a time your way out bush or something similar where theres no cops, people or planes (except your friends if you go camping for example) and experiment with it outdoors there.

I would also contact (goldenstarwinni at hotmail dot com). She sells CNI modules. Not to rain on lasevers parade (I'm giving them a go for my red and blue), but lasever have had issues in the past with some models. a 1W green from winni will set you back $535. A 300mw is $250. Thats from the...

    Help lasershow

You can email them for prices. Most of these chinese companies do not print price lists, and rather get you to contact them for a price. Yes BB I did contact lasever (Van), Laser-wave (Bridge) and Goldenstar Lasers (Winni + Mimi) for parts. Now I have ball park figures, I know that I can make...

    Help lasershow

I think you read wrong BB. You are NOT going to get those 3 modules for $1000, you may get 1W green and 1W 445 with that money, but toss in another $1000 for the 1W 637. This is why all the projector pro's are trying to tame the G71/P73 diodes - they are way cheaper than buying the comparable...

    Who here's from Australia?

if they can see how it goes back together, and it has batteries with it, or common (e.g. double a) batteries, and they can get it to produce a beam, they'll meter it. >1mw = confiscation. Oh, I'm from NSW as well :P

    Help lasershow

There are several options for 637 red. Since your going low power (<500mw) you can: use a mitsubishi diode with correction optics. The diode you can set to 300mw after optics. The correction optics if I recall are not very lossy. Its when you get to powers over 500mw, that you start needing...

    Help lasershow

Most 635's have fat beams. The only way to correct this is with correction optics (cylindar lenses). This keeps the beam at aperture small enough to prevent it spilling off your mirrors at the expense of divergance. Correctly done however, a beam of ~4mm can be obtained with a divergance of...

    Help lasershow

In an analogue projector all the lasers must be analogue to produce the thousands of colours. Its the variable power of the lasers (as opposed to simply on/off) that produce the shades. The ratio of power is as follows (rough guide) 532:635:445 - 1:1:1 (i.e. all 300 mw modules) 532:650:445 -...

    Help lasershow

I once again agree with the badger. In addition, if your running 64bit windows 7 in the future, you'll run into problems with both the sound card dac (easily solved) and the ishow (not yet solved). Also if you plan to upgrade to analogue lasers in the future, dont expect them to perform until...

    Help lasershow

Depends like BB said, on how fast your galvos are. You can ruin them by scanning them too fast. Also TTL lasers will introduce a little more flicker as some frames may have colours that are borderline signals to your lasers, thus causing them to flick on and off. a very dark green for example...

    B&W Tek BWB-10-OEM - 473nm 10mW

LOL at bad ass gas - if you have this problem, you need to change your diet :P Nice comparison between 473 and 445 there Things. That projector box looks familiar :)

Where do I start? Looking for a programmable show...

I cannot help with upgrading the lasers in the REKE, as I dont own one, but yes get the REKE, the quickshow set from hak, and the cable from a computer shop or similar (dont spend a fortune at a laser shop).
