    Remember to exercise those argons!

Those transformers do have their uses once you hack off the dangerous 2kv secondary :) I saw one on the street the other day and meant to go get the transformer. Its probably been picked up by now by the council.

    Remember to exercise those argons!

Is that a rewound microwave oven transformer I see running the filament? :)

1.2 miles away with a 520nm, 1.35 watt Trail Blazer.

I think the problem with pilots and lasers is that people often target aircraft during the most critical phase of flight - takeoff and landing. Its during this time that a lot of things are happening up front, so even if the pilots are not flash blinded by the laser, they're sure going to be...

FS: Custom Laser Labels Available Again!

Re: FS: Custom Laser Warning Labels UPDATE No worries mate - I'll be ready when you are. I won't be putting the sticker on my laser until after my trip away - having a laser that you can disassemble with a twist is handy for plane flight - throw on an atomiser and its just an electronic...

Re: FS: Custom Laser Warning Labels UPDATE How much do I owe you mate - I'm in australia so factor in international postage :)

    FS: Tunable Argon Laser Head

Pretty piss poor if you ask me - if you bid and won X and they only give you Y, thats bait and switch. I'm looking down the barrel of one of these scams now, not due to a seller, but due to Ebay's PBI repacking a parcel. Seller says the ILT is 25" long, yet Fedex says package is 22" long. So it...

Re: FS: Custom Laser Warning Labels UPDATE Hey Rivem - put me down for one unit. I really should label my pointer :) 520nm <2W Class IV Laser Product Green Beam line Cheers Ben

    FS: Tunable Argon Laser Head

ILT's default to the head pot if there is no remote. But without the cable, you're kinda outta luck. I've made a post in the gas laser forum detailing the remote pinouts, but don't use it until I confirm once I get my ILT 5500ASL back :) edit: This cable might work...

    ILT 5405A Remote Pinout inside

While doing some research on this and the other forum I have deduced a lot of information on the ILT 5405A power supply. This is for my reference, but may help others: I NEED TO DOUBLE CHECK THIS FIRST. Waiting on a supply from up north or from ebay. I will also be getting my RPC-50 back down...

    FS: Tunable Argon Laser Head

I know this thread is old but I thought I'd chime in as I'm all ILT'ed out having done tonnes of research on these things. That for sure has a littrow prism in the back, and is a 10mW 488-514 laser and is powered by the 5400A power supply. To change the wavelength you adjust the vertical mirror...

    Uniphase Argon Laser Help

of course - you can always pretty it up after getting it working, and as a bonus, use the cardboard controller as a template for drilling holes in a plastic enclosure should you decide to upgrade. Did make me smile! A dremel comes in handy for those rotten 25 pin printer port plugs :)

ok is that fancy enclosure what I think it is? A cardboard laser controller? :)

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

My previous ILT (now living up north) sat under my workbench. Out of the way, but close enough to a kitchen outlet to allow me to do a monthly burn. If I wanted to bring it out for display, the coffee table was the place of choice (seen in the film where I unbox the omni). There it has all the...

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

hahaha so did my other argon (the laserphysics). Almost felt as though after the first run, each time I spooled it up, I'd first have to call ground on 124.25 to get permission to start. They do indeed sound like a jet winding up :) Also those grills are on them for a reason - you'd know about...

PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please Alaskan, you're kinda like me - like lasers but have no real use for them (except mabye home laser shows). Be careful if you get one of those - that amount of green and IR is not forgiving, especially with the...

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

Well mail man just delivered a set of imperial drivers so now taking apart the omni should be rather simple. About time I bought a set too - this being the second time I've needed a set of imperial drivers and had to make do with a metric set or borrow them from a friend. The ILT is paid for...

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

Just ordered some imperial hex drivers so I don't have to sit around in final cut chopping out video while I try in vain to use metric tools on imperial fasteners :) I watched a teardown of a novus 2.5w surgical - he couldn't get the laser in it to run so he ripped into the tube (but was...

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

yeah playing with optics is quite a treat, especially with gas lasers. Just scored a supply for the ILT - if the ILT from ebay ends up dead, at least I'll have a spare to go with my other ILT :) Trying to motivate myself to strip down the omni - I finding it difficult to tear down such a mint...

omni 543-200MA - quest for another Argon (was which exciter)

oh well I have plenty of other optics to play with - a diffraction grating (also known as a CD :P), some dichros and a polygon scanner out of a laser printer. Oh and a set of DT40 W's :)
